And what's crazy was that season 2 was also under an unbelievable amount of crunch. Some of the studio folks have come out to say that the big episode of the season was only like 40% finished. But for what it's worth, in episode 20 a jujutsu high student named Arata Nitta shows up and uses his power on Nobara and Yuji. He says that Nobara isn't breathing and has no pulse, but there's a "not 0%" chance that she will survive and he takes her body to go get treatment. So it's possible she won't stay dead.
