I was part of a FC about 4 years ago on FFXIV. Everyone stopped playing/moved to a more raid competitive servers after server shuffle. Only 2-3 of us stayed but they eventually left also. I became the FC leader eventually and the sole owner of the mansion we owned in the game and due to sentimental value, I kept it. I hoped one day they came back. I am also too busy to recruit new people and since I don't raid as much as I would like due to work, I am the only person that casually go on to do dalies and that's it.

I was once a guild leader of that counts. It was stressful especially when two guild members started flirting and predictably it went wrong but thankfully not so wrong that I couldn't deal with it. But like, they could've just not been horny and that would be very cool if they weren't horny in the group chat.

Yeah Ive been in a few for runescape 3 and oldschool runescape. I just hop around. I don't really chat to the members all that much after like the first 10 mins of joining.

I briefly played oldschool runescape a few weeks ago and joined a new clan just so I could wear their cape (it reminds me of the 99 fishing cape). I havent met the clan leader and neither has the member who let me join lol.

Of real people? No, unless working to make a guide for a game/ hunting for information with others counts.

Yeah, Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes before I realized how P2W it was. The guilds communicated through discord.

People were spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on that game to upgrade their rosters. One guy in our guild admitted to spending over $30k and had pretty much everything you could buy in the game. He eventually left the guild and joined one where the requirement for membership was being an idiot who spent at least $10k.

It was fucked how people talked about blowing up their credit cards buying game currency like it was normal. Those types of games are purely addiction-based.

It wasn't so much a clan as it was just a bunch of us close friends who decided to put 730 at the end of our gamertags on the xbox360. (It was like 10 of us total. Just me, my 3 close friends, one of my close friend's nephew, 2 more friends, one of my close friend's older brother and then his best friend. My older brother added it to his gamertag at some point).

We all played gears of war games (especially gears 1 and 3. Gears 2.....eh, it was aight lol), and my best friend and I really got into the campaign versus pvp in left 4 dead 1 and 2.

At one point I switched my xbox gamertag name to zoro, but then after awhile I put that 730 back on my xbox gamertag while switching the name back to mad dogg where it still stands to this day. (One of my best friends passed away awhile back so I'm not going to bother changing that anymore. Remember the good times we had and whatnot).

I remember in Runescape, 2 guys tried to "initiate" me into a clan by luring me to lvl 40 wilderness for a test and then ambushing me for my stuff lol. Luckily I killed one of them and then walked out while the other was still attacking me. I think I knew it was coming and just swapped to poweful armor I had hidden when they attacked

Yes in socom 2 I found a clan and we played together a ton.
About five years later I ran into the leader while playing socom confrontation. It was really random and cool.

Socom was the last game I played that actually felt like a community. It had servers and lobbies you could go to and find the same players there day after day.

We were one of the top 5 teams in the world at Mech Assault on the Xbox, back when it was all just community organised on the official Xbox forum.

Back when game battles was a thing, I was in a COD 4 clan. Those days were hella sweaty

It's really enjoyable if you just don't give a fuck about competitive parts and just look at it as a chill collectethon. Find yourself a chill guild that's a mix of new and old players. I've been playing since about a month after launch and I'm 100% free to play.

It was kinda cool. They would schedule clan battles with other groups and we'd have some pretty intense matches.

Yeah, a few of them. First big one was a clan in Warframe that found me right when I started playing. I was so lost and joining random games 'cause I had no idea what to do. One random dude noticed how confused I seemed and started explaining everything. Invited me to his clan because a good portion of the weapons can only be crafted via the clan hall and his clan had almost everything unlocked. I played the game for a little over a year and was one of the top clan members by the time I moved on.

Eventually started playing Destiny 2, and an IRL buddy of mine invited me to his clan. Met some genuinely great friends through that clan and even though a bunch of us have moved on from Destiny, we still have our clan discord server and play other games together all the time.

Battlefield 2 clan but I never talked or really interacted with anybody. Currently in a Division 2 clan where I chat here and there through Discord and in-game text chat, and I only use voice for coordinated raids and missions.

Ran a WoW guild until two years ago from the beginning of TBC, and was in a comp clan for L4D and GunZ lol.

Competitive was too much for me, could never bring myself to get too involved. Way too serious for no payoff they were.

The only serious group I ever joined was Apex Stalkers, a racing group in GTAO. I doubt it's active anymore but it still exists at least. You had to apply on their site and sort of pass a clean racing test and be also good enough to join. I really liked racing back in the first couple of years of GTAO.

Also had a group/clan in StarCraft back in like middle school and high school but for the life of me I can't remember the fucking name, I think it was Ring of something but can't remember the last word.

Makes me wanna play some StarCraft though lol

I've been in a guild on WoW, free company in Final Fantasy XIV, guild on Ragnarok Online and a clan called XGC on Call of Duty(specifically Black Ops 1/2)

As a kid I was in age of empires 1 clan. Even made a geocities web page.
