$175 for a pair of Oakley combat boots, that was with a military discount.

$110 on a pair of doc martens, they lasted me well over a decade, so it was a worthy investment. I am seldom in the habit of spending this much on myself however, so I usually don't like going over $25.

But my point is, what puts the value into the shoes at all? Because Sneakerheads are willing to pay that much? Branding such as in this case cause of Kobe? Rarity/supply? Material that comes from hard to reach places such as the Amazon or Mariana Trench?

I just don't get where the value comes from.

I cant speak for everybody else, but for me it boils down to me wanting them more than the cheaper counterparts. Sometimes thats the look, the comfort, the quality, etc. Usually its a combination of things.

However, I will admit that part of the value comes from the perception of value. By wearing clothes and shoes that people recognise as having value, they perceive you as more successful. This can help you to be more successful. Ive genuinely
found that my career has come on leaps and bounds since I started wearing more expensive things.

Id find some shoes you dont wear or dont wear much at all and trade them. Thats what I did for my Grinchs. Absolutely love them and love having them in the collection.

I cant ever remember what I said for these topics, somewhere between $400-$500 for me.

Pretty much Sneakerheads. Same as collectible cards or action figures or even rare old videos games or whatnot.

Also rarity/supply but in general it's the Sneakerheads driving up the hype

but recently I am obsessed with sandals and got a few pairs but one that costed about $45 on champion white was my favorite pair
