Who on Earth is so devoted to Wendys that theyd willingly pay extra for it during lunch? Wendys ranks somewhere around fifth or sixth in terms of popular dining spots. And now they expect us to say, Hey, lets not just go to Wendys, but lets go there even when theyre charging us more. Its quite the bold move, isnt it?

I already rarely eat at Wendy's, all this will do is make me never eat at Wendy's.

What's annoying about their comparison to ride sharing is that with ride sharing during surge pricing events it has the perception of being needed because it's such a busy time and there's only so many drivers. Increase the price to discourage people from riding so that the drivers don't get overwhelmed and the riders don't have too long of a wait. Of course reality is that surge pricing is there because they know they can get away with it and make more profit but again it has that other perception going for it.

For fast food though that's just not the case. The busy hours are already the most profitable hours for fast food places, so the surge pricing there is just pure greed, it doesn't even have a false perception of any kind of bonus for the people paying the higher price.

It turns out that at around 2 in the morning it becomes "motherfucker, this is a Wendy's."

Wendy's is so overpriced already I rarely go there, this will just reduce that to "never".

The Wendy's by me is overpriced as it is now. I already don't eat there for lunch anymore, but this would ensure that it would never be an option I'd even give slight consideration for.

"lunch portions" are often the same thing. if you order at lunch you cant get the dinner, just the lunch. the lunch is 50% of the size for 75% of the price.

Fuck that. I go there at least once a week because its practically on top of my work and its cheap as hell(with the app and my modest orders at least. I just get either a drink and baconator fries with a 1$ coupon on one of em, a cheap combo like 4 for 4, a frosty when they have vanilla and not one of their seasonal abominations or use reward points and largely ignore the premium stuff. If I want actual quality Ill go somewhere else lmao.)

Luckily for me I work mornings through lunch so its past surge pricing time by the time I might wander in. But if that shit is higher then its supposed to be Im going 5 mins extra to McDonalds instead(Under 2 dollars total for Large fries and any size soda with the app lmao) or just giving up on fast food.

The burger could increase in price around lunchtime or go down during a slow afternoon.

So they want less traffic at lunch and more traffic at slowdown. What makes them think people will skip lunch there and go back for dinner? Or maybe change their lunch breaks to 2pm? lol

this is so not cool, and is the complete opposite of the wendy's I came to know and love over these last few years...

Unless they only do this in high traffic, low loyalty area places like bus terminals or airports - I see this really pissing off customers.

I don't eat fast food anymore, but I used to really like Wendy's probably as my #1 go-to after work back in the day, and if I knew they were charging me more because it was evening rush hour I would find a new go-to immediately.
