Way too many public figures attempt suicide when they are called out for their bullshit.

They want to deflect from their behavior and garner sympathy.

Too many people in general default to it as a defense mechanism. I've been guilty of it (as well as actually attempting), and it's been the cause of pushing and/or driving away people I cherished.

Meanwhile, donate money to Gaza charities (and run fundraisers yourself) or actually go and protest or do something that involves more effort than typing something with your thumbs while dropping a deuce.

Even if you are not a public figure, pro-Palestine views can cost your career in real life . I know pro-Israel HR manager that tried to blacklist a pro-Palestine worker from getting jobs.

harassment campaigns are the exact same shit the kiwifarms and 4chan lunatics always do. you aren't helping a cause by attacking people online or calling them or their family members, that just makes you an unhinged lunatic and a horrible person. helping a cause is donating time and/or money to a cause. "raising awareness" isn't something that non celebrities can do, they tend to only harass people for no reason.

They definitely feel worse to me now. The lack of moderation and focus on politicking does affect the left side too, leading to more visible death threats, slurs, and more extreme behavior.

It doesn't. As someone who used to be in a lot of these extreme left/liberal people/groups the one thing they all tend to lack is optics. A lot of these people/groups don't care if what they're doing is going to hurt their cause or not because they're doing it for "social justice". They're doing it for a right cause so they don't care about the consequences even if it means ruining peoples lives, driving people away from your cause, looking like a bunch of deranged idiots, etc.

That's not to say extreme right/conservative people/groups don't do this shit as well, but I like to hold people that share my beliefs and politics accountable for doing stupid shit. That's the difference between conservatives and liberals, which is why you have someone stupid as Trump representing you.
