I was somewhat kidding about Dragon Dragon II on the nes, I think I could be alright with it still but I have no confidence or timing for the death trap stages likely.

I could beat that game on Supreme Master though on lives if I stacked them up through good gameplay.

I used to dominate when I played assassins creed 3 multi player I loved it. It was such a unique experience and you actually had to learn how to play and have an understanding of the mechanics to get good. I don't think many people had the patience to learn the game.
And I got super good at both Tom Clancy HAWX games.

That is what I miss the most about the 360 era of gaming every game had a multiplayer mode tacked on and I loved playing all the weird multiplayer games. Now they are all dead and forgotten and no one will ever get to experience them again.

Nioh 2. Nioh I found too frustrating after hitting Way of the Nioh and beyond frustrating when hitting the WotN abyss floors to the point I just stopped after IIRC floor 31. Nioh 2 however the only reason I haven't finished the underworld yet is because I like to finish each floor completely and I don't play nearly as much as I used to. Still, it's one of my favourite games of all time at this point, and probably the only game in my adult life I can say I am good at, although I don't play with people whom I don't know, so I only ever co-op'd it once with my husband. Everything Dream/Way of the Strong and beyond has been solo.

Zelda 2. I'm average to below average in almost all games, but I can destroy in that game thanks to muscle memories of thousands of hours played as a kid.

---
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

When Madden went online in 2003, before there were Hot Routes and 100 different ways to audible, I was REALLY good. Like lost 3 times out of every 50 or so games I would play.

Hated the Eagles, but McNabb was Goated in that game.

I can also beat all 3 runs of GI Joe for NES without losing a single life

Back in the 1980s-1990s, I finished several NES games on a single life.

I'm pretty good at Fire Emblem. I usually get good at SRPGs, or even turn-based RPGs in general. As far as multiplayer is concerned, I play a mean Raphael in Soul Calibur II, even though I'm usually garbage at any game requiring any amount of dexterity.

The only game I can make a claim in is Starcraft II. I peaked at mid-masters, which put me around the top 1 to 2% of all players. Having put 13 years into it though, I felt like I should have reached a higher peak. But I just hit a solid wall with my progress. Finally gave it up last year.

I remember being really good at NHL 2k7/8. Online. Back in ye olden Playstation 3 years. There wasn't a EA '07 on PS3. Anyhow I just knew how the game flowed in those 2K games so I could get a couple games and be quite sure no one would slip one by on me.

I didn't play the trap, it's just I vibed so much with those.

The thing is that some people consider any random battle a grind. Rpgs were built on battles and overcoming obstacles. Things like the 12,000+ HP boss is stupid in FFXII. I get my ass out of the pool.

There is still skill in being frugal and just fighting Along the Way!

I was the best 3rd Strike player in Seattle area when I lived there. So I am pretty good at that probably. I played a lot of BlazBlue and Persona Arena as well, but wasn't the best.

I was one of the top Mario Kart DS Racers on Gamefaqs back in the day, winning online tournaments and was one of the few to beat Azen (the top MKDS racer back then) in a set.

I was the one of the top Metroid Prime: Hunters players back in the day and was considered to be the #1 Sylux player back in 06-07

I created a large gaming clan that was very successful both in Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters, and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 for the Wii

Was #1 on the leaderboards in Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 for the Wii

I entered many Smash Bros tournaments in Smash 4 and was considered to be one of the top ROBs in the area. I was consistently getting top 5 in local tournaments and got 2nd place at a tournament of almost 100 people.

I still play Smash online but don't have much time for tournaments anymore. My competitive gaming days are over but I had a good run.

I had Ridge Racer IV down pat. But that last race is some algorithm I lost. There is one designed way to win that race. I think it is grip wheels. I preferred drift. Anyhow I used to play racing games. Hah

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 used to be my game back in the day. I played some 3rd strike too and would take some local tourneys. Did a couple regionals for Mahvel and did good enough. Never won regionals, but I'd stomp out the locals most times.

Oh actually recently in the newly released excellent game Balatro, which is Poker on several steroids, I beat the Gold Stakes, the highest difficulty, with a ghost deck

Steam achievements seem to imply I'm the top 0.6%
