They could give multiple options. Like do you want your money to go towards education, or supporting genocide?

Do you want right wingers to be able to opt out of funding social safety nets?

Or opt in to subsiding billionaires and hate groups?

I've had the same thought before. Then I remembered that a good amount of people are stupid and can't be bothered to act in their own self interest.

Administrative nightmare, if we operate under the assumption that the average taxpayer would not be lazy.

A lot of people would give the police even more money and schools even less.

You kinda can. You pay less taxes depending on your donation to your charity of choice. I'm sure others know more about this.

Only if you're itemizing and that essentially requires owning property.

That would completely defeat the purpose of taxes.
