i was responding to a guy saying "this is normal where i am"

i actually posted apprehensively earlier in the same topic saying "this seems dumb but their reasoning is technically sound"
and then agreed with other people saying it's dumb

but i guess if you ignore all that and pretend all i said was "americans should be more thankful and not complain about hair" then I guess that's how it sounds

Also, America funds military in Europe so that we don't have to worry about being directly bordering with our #1 enemy. We fund military, and in exchange, we get to put military bases in other countries. Would you prefer that we take out our military bases, and put all of our military personnel away from Russia and China, and lose all of our positional advantage?

You don't see any Mexicans going to Denmark, because they can't. Period. The problem with your thinking is that America is only attractive to poor Mexicans. Rich Mexicans aren't going to immigrate to America, because there's no need for it. They already have their power. At best, they come to America to buy property and investments , or sell shit.

On the other hand, people who fly to America via airplane aren't dirt poor. They are often educated immigrants who were able to make some money, save up enough, then fly over. Then they overstay their visas, and then find ways to stay because they've gotten jobs or used legal/business connections.

Even though anyone remotely honest knows that criticism of the US is made relative to other developed countries, not the world as a whole. Obviously Id rather live in the US than, say, South Sudan. But among developed countries, the US is near the bottom in my eyes.
