I actually think it doesn't look as bad as I thought it could have. Weird seeing Kevin Hart in some kind of straight laced role.

Jack Black as Claptrap is fine. Everyone else though....yeah.

- I love Cate Blanchett, but she's too old to be playing Lilith (Jamie Lee Curtis is also too old to be Tannis).
- To his credit, it seems Kevin Hart is trying to play the straight man this time, but it's impossible to not see him as Kevin Hart (not to mention Roland is supposed to be a pretty big and beefy guy, and Kevin is the complete opposite of that lol).
- No opinions on Tiny Tina's actress as I don't really know her, but they seemed to have toned down her craziness here so it seems really off.

Clearly trying to go for a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe. Just like that D&D movie.

Kevin Hart played the straight guy in that heist movie earlier (the one with the NFT).

But that was also a shitty movie, so.

No part of that trailer felt right.

Also I've been saying since it was announced that Wayne Brady would have been a much better choice to play Roland than Kevin Hart, and this trailer proves me right imo

this trailer isn't hooking me but i felt the same with twisted metal show and it was a surprise fun show so will give this one a shot to see if i can enjoy it like twisted metal but will keep my expectation on the low just in case this is a crappy show

Looks great and like a lot of fun. My only real complaint is Tina, who's absolutely the highlight of 2, isn't really all that wacky or zany. The actress is fine, but they really should have told her to turn it up to eleven for that role. Maybe she will be, as we didn't see her all that much, but she absolutely should be batshit insane, seeing as she raised herself among a chaotic world.

Also, Edgar Ramirez is never in anything successful. Dude's kryptonite for success.

Everyone looks fantastic, almost perfect, especially Lilith, Blanchett is already a goddess, but she transforms perfectly here. Tanis looks great as well, same for Claptrap, who I assumed would look slightly different.

No clue why they added Krieg though, he was a throw away character for 2, they should have gotten some cock diesel guy like Batista or Richtson to be Brick or something. That'd make more sense.

I will say, the trailer doesn't completely remove the notion that the story is about Handsome Jack looking for his kidnapped daughter, but it does look better than I expected if that's the case. That was a dumb fucking plotline, and I definitely don't think that's the winning formula for a successful movie. Aesthetically it looks great though, so even if they just planted the Borderlands brand onto a dumb ass plot like that, at least they went with it and tried to make it visually appear like a Borderlands, unlike a majority of video game adaptations that barely even get that right.

It's not that Roland is short, it's that Roland is Kevin Hart.

It could be Jonathan Gresham (5'1 professional wrestler who's swole as fuck) and he'd at least not have the baggage Kevin Hart does, of simply being Kevin Hart in 9 times out of 10. I give Hart credit for his Jumanji roles, because he didn't really play Kevin Hart, but almost every other film besides those, he's just a loud mouth, quip firing, egotistical asshole, like he always plays, in every single other movie.

People eat it up, that's why he was such a big box office success for so long, but not everyone likes that style, and Roland is absolutely not that type of character.

I'm honestly okay with Jamie Lee Tannis.

Like, she's obviously a lot older than the original character but I think she'd do the role well.

Definitely not gonna break the video game movie standard of not being good.

According to google, Ariana is 5'3 and Kevin is 5'2. So she is taller than him, but not by a whole 6 inches.

The casting is wildly off. Blanchett is too old and doesn't have the energy to be Lilith (and the Siren tattoos are missing)

Kreig actually looks...fine, but my next problem is: why is he and Tiny even in this, but not Mordecai and Brick? Tiny ain't even an actual vault hunter, so I'm not sure why they dropped Mordy and Brick, especially due to the irony of they actually are still alive by the end of BL3.

This seems so bad. Not even giving it a chance.

Anyway, it's weird how the trailer boasts the producer of Spiderman, Uncharted and Venom instead of Roth when he's coming out hot off that Thanksgiving movie. Concerning. Also concerning how Craig Mazin removed his name from the film. I mean, it looks bad as is but it's possible that it's gonna be much worse than it looks lol

Yeah. Could have been worse but the characters just seem miscast.

Roland was my favorite character, and he's so miscast here that my interest was killed from the get-go. Also Brick and Mordy should have been part of the cast. In BL2 I found Tina obnoxious most of the time, and Krieg's psycho shtick got old real quick, so them taking the place of the other two sucks. They could have just made an animated movie to take advantage of the cel-shaded look of the games. I'd love to be wrong, but this looks like shit.

Not sure if someone mentioned it, but Terry Crews would be a perfect Roland
