Wanted an open world game to wander around in, picked this.
About 5 hours in so far, and its okay.
Two annoying things though: the running sucks (you barely go faster), and it is very annoying when a helicopter shows up and just shoots you and there's nothing you can really do about it.

Probably the best Far Cry game after 2 came out, it's so fun to screw around with the guns for hire/buddies for hire system.

It's fun for a while, but for me it didn't take too long for it to just feel like busy work that got me nowhere. I just got bored with it.

cannot agree, whatever they introduced in 3 was very rudimentary, between awkward 2 minute side missions, challenges that felt out of line with the rest of the world, convoluted menus... all of it was improved upon in 4.

I played all of it but the final mission lol

it was both longer and shorter than I expected. (I played 6 before I played 5 so expectation was a bit skewed)

The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt.

I normally dont play first person games. I highly dislike that view. With that being said the Far Cry games always interested me and when 5 came out I couldnt resist the Montana setting. Im a sucker for that kind of Pacific Northwest setting.

Ended up enjoying the game quite a bit. Ill probably never play a Far Cry game again but Im glad I tried it once. If the game was third person it would probably be one of my favorite series.

Have you tried Ghost Recon: Wildlands?

I got the plat for FC5, good game. I forget exactly how the missions work now but I remember something about the way progression works in that game, like it's forced on you at certain points? I didn't like that, but otherwise it was a lot of fun.

No. I have no interest in the Tom Clancy games. I know its third person and I can appreciate the scenery a lot but Im really not really into tactical shooters/military stuff of any kind.

Agree completely, plus 4 actually had an interesting story. Yeah yeah, people liked Vaas. Pagan Min is literally the best villain in the entire series and it's not even close.

The story unilaterally putting you in plot missions with an infuriating rationale was the reason I never replayed it. And, I rarely say this for any game, but one upside was that FC5 has a great level editor and you can play missions created by other players. If you get jaded with the game, maybe try some of those.

The level editor was apparently an absolute beast too but I don't think it ever caught on

Montana isn't pacific northwest, there's entire country lengths between it and the ocean. It's a mountain region. But otherwise yes I agree
