If I'm not mistaken, his kondition is gradually getting worse and number of his incarnations become more of a feral dumb animal as time goes on. He's usually a tragic character, unless they feel like hammimg up him being a moron for laughs.

He did just have skin issue, and then someone just said fuck it make him the Lizard for Spider-Man just on a Batman level. Because this brother guy a fucking tail half the time. He's not actually a master of every martial art, but he did spend something like a decade training extensively in a variety of different styles. Similarly, he's a decent detective, but he's never been presented as a peer to any of the actual geniuses in dc.

This is completely false. He's literally referred to as the "World's Greatest Detective" and he's absolutely a peer of guys like Lex Luthor, Mr. Terrific, Ray Palmer, etc.

As for the topic, originally yes it was merely a skin condition. However over time they've made it a legit mutation that not only makes him more animalistic but also increases his strength.

I meant geniuses in terms of things like scientists, engineers, or biologists. There's a reason why Lucius Fox helps him with his inventions.

And in terms of Martial arts, if you've got a panel from a comic somewhere where Batman claims that he's mastered every martial art on the planet you can go ahead and share it, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist.

Yes and that reason is time. He doesn't use Lucius because he's incapable of doing it himself.

And that has only become a thing due to the Nolan films. Prior to that, Bruce has been shown to make his own inventions and even since then he has feats of engineering. Bruce absolutely is on par with the others I mentioned in terms of science, engineering, chemistry, biology, etc.

Yeah, making him Elon Musk with muscle pretty much ruins Batman. Canonically, he would be the wealthiest man in the world if he consolidated all of his assets.

He has the money to solve every problem in his stories except his own grief. He doesn't actually care about crime. He just needs an excuse to beat up the less fortunate. Hell, even his parents getting killed only happened because they were too cheap to hire a bodyguard. It's not like Bruce had learned much either. He has a huge mansion with one 70-year-old man to take care of it all.

That's one of the problems with trying to make Batman "perfect" in every field. Perfect 10 looks, perfect 10 strength, perfect 10 intelligence, and perfect 10 wealth means that he has the resources to solve his problems and opts not to. They should have left it at him being a millionaire who can afford a fancy car and a plane.

Your initial quote was trying to downplay his skills, which is what I was taking exception to.

As for knowing 127 styles, that was first mentioned in the Ultimate Guide listed in that Quota link. After that, it was all but directly stated in Batgirl Vol 1 #7 (2000) that the Batman has learned all 127 major styles of combat. We learn this through a virtual recording of him going through the basics of each style. Apparently there's about 180 martial arts in the world? So even if it's not, literally, every single one, I think 127 is more than enough to make him an uber-elite martial artist.

I think you underestimate how much could be done by the world's richest man. What you're talking about is throwing around a little charity money out of his excess wealth. Batman could fundamentally change Gotham City.

If he's a millionaire, they can make it so that the best he can do is go out and become a vigilante. As a multi-billionaire, he could systematically fix the problems within Gotham City; from the corrupt police down to people hustling to make a living. He would never eliminate individuals who hurt others for shits and giggles. There might still be some small room for Batman in settling domestic violence or beating up some gang members who are a part of gangs from choice rather than need. But there isn't any kind of scenario in which an Elon Musk or Bill Gates dressing up like a rodent-themed ninja is the best way to solve a city's problems.

If you're the world's strongest person, that's a good thing. If you're the world's richest person, it means that other people are starving while you're hording life-saving resources.
