I feel like "the documents have expired" is a pretty big difference from "undocumented" and the tweet more sounds like they're using undocumented as synonymous with any kind of unlawful visits.

Hasan widely spoke about it and he's well researched. I looked it up myself too, it's true. At one point Elon Musk was an undocumented immigrant.

Yeah, driving with an expire license isn't nearly as bad by virtue that you didn't lose the ability to drive but having an your visa expire means you lose the ability to stay.

The reason you have to update your license is actually the same reason you update your visa. It's identification.

So Elon was supposedly the "secretary" of a California-based company in August 1996.

But was also supposedly awarded two degrees in May 1997.

Everybody ITT is looking through the wrong end of the telescope - Musk's immigration history is not really worth caring about in comparison to his spouting of great replacement bullshit. It's noxious even if he went through the correct process, and it doesn't get more noxious if he didn't. There's not a hypocrisy multiplier on this stuff.

No theres not. Most illegal immigrants are people who overstay a visa. Most deportations are this group.

Its a distinction without relevance. With illegal immigration the question is are you supposed to be in the country vs does the government want to deport you? A record of how you entered matters as much as if you were wearing shorts or pants.

Take the recent exposure of how the couple who were the main architects for "Don't Say Gay" in FL were exposed as regularly having threesomes, meaning that one of those people creating anti-LGBT laws is in fact bi herself and had regular sexual encounters that she publicly speaks out against.

Yes, being anti-LGBT and crafting legislation from that mindset is abhorrent by default, but it does become especially nefarious when the ones doing it are members of that community themselves. It would be like if black people were the ones who wrote Jim Crow laws. Bad enough that racist white people did it, but if black people did it against their own people?

It's the same as if you overstayed a tourist visa or even an ESTA after going through Passport Control. If you overstay those conditions, you do not have valid documents to stay in the nation if CBP / ICE demands to see your documents. You literally have no valid documents to give them hence the term "undocumented immigrant".

To me it reads like missing the point - Musk's immigration history doesn't change the abhorrance of his views. But rather than addressing those views on their own, half this topic has been spent niggling into the details of Elon Musk's Visa.

Personally I think the views he uses his massive platform to promote are more worth our attention than whether he violated some statute in the 90s.

I have a degree from the same school (which is not usually referred to as Penn University) and year, and mine looks different. Different parts are in Latin. Maybe there's a mundane explanation, but I think it's suspicious.

I already made a detailed post addressed to you explaining why I disagree with your stance. It is always more abhorrent when members of a community/demographic seek to oppress other members of that community/demographic.

An example I didn't use previously is people like Tim Scott & Candace Owens legitimizing and boosting white supremacist narratives. Yes, white supremacy is bad regardless, however Tom Cotton being a racist towards blacks and Tim Scott being racist towards blacks, with the same motivation, does hit differently. There's even literally a term specifically used to describe it.

Musk's white supremacist views have already been discussed ad nauseum in a plethora of threads. This particular thread was created to bring new/different information, so it doesn't make sense that this is what bothers you. Nobody on this board that is a regular poster isn't familiar with his defense of and platforming of Neo-Nazis and boosting white supremacist/great replacement narratives. If true (the illegal immigration status), this would actually be new information.
