I think each emotion is too complex to accurately call them opposites of each other

Kinda. Depends on the context. But I would say more anger than hate. I know when you are in a relationship, you can oftentimes get mad about something and can work it out. The kiss of death to a relationship is when you no longer care.

No. When Sasuke was an indifferent aloof ass in part 1 him and Naruto were actually kinda friends. It's when he embraced the hate that he was a true counter to Naruto's love. Of course love always overcomes bc one who fills his life with love will have friends or demon foxes willing to help, while Sasuke was alone until he realized the error of his way.

There's many situations where indifference can lead to negligent homicide. Better than murder 1 hate but not exactly a middle ground. Definitely closer to hate than love.
