The role switch really had me in a bit of a mental panic because it really complicated claiming.

Not having standard nillas was also trouble

It was a fun game. I bet if town had really sunk into the roles a lot and not got overwhelmed it woulda been kinda easy to discern scum. It required a lot of thought though. The harder it is the claim, usually the later scum claim.

Not only did I have most scum pegged day one, but I also figured out the big twist before everyone else. And idiots decided to lynch me for it instead of having things like tact, critical thinking skills, or advanced reading comprehension.

And this is why town should stop listening to loud wrong bad players until they have actual information. Not killing inactives because people only look at the people actually posting is why town wins one game per year instead of winning 50% like theyre supposed to. Youd think people would notice this and learn, but theyd rather be stubborn morons and lose on purpose to prove a point.

Oh, and Andy was right. My guy has gotten really good at finding the scums in late game spots. Good job man.

I kind of wish I didnt play haphazardly because by the time I joined DTC I had the whole scum team nailed.

edit: for clarity, I joined dtc after the sultan lynch. I had 2/4 + Sultan after my death, the 2 being red and corrik.

To be fair if FD had not blown himself up, we would never reach a point where my ability could go off unless town nolynched

Looking over this was a bigger task than I initially thought, but it was fun all the game. I influenced some stuff while Isquen stuck with his ideas for some other things. I think it's all fine. I have little to say to people attacking a detailed setup. People often ask for role madness and Isquen is the only player that provides this. To every other host it has meant no vanillas or something.

A fair criticism though is that I think the game could have been clearer about what was mechanics and what was not. I think I also helped with this to some degree, at least a lot od stuff got put into the opening post, but I think it could be sharper still. I don't mind flavor being added into sentences, but occasionally it just felt a bit misleading. Some roles are way clearer than others. FD got poisoned and I don't think he should be in doubt about that. Ulti's first role was weird because he was immune to actions that explicitly targeted survivors (not because it hinted at a switch) which wasn't clear at all, though it later would have been.

I also suggested not having the 7-day thing because I personally thought it would be anticlimactic, Isquen stuck with it, and that's fine. Role is fine from setup POV.

When we sat with full setup, town clearly looked stronger. In fact roleblocker/redirector was put into the last scum slot to compensate and the last town slot was one of the weakest roles I forgot which. Even so, town had a lot of power, but I also thought this was that this was compensated by them probably role metaing into themselves. I did suggest giving scum a trait safelist, but Isquen thought it was fine with stating they were repeated.

Ashe's DBD knowledge in scum chat was fun to follow. Other than that scumchat was pretty dead early and got more alive later, opposite of topic.

Brohan's complete lack of playing deflated the game more than anything else. Replacements were already used and IGCD not Brohan had asked for one too. Full respect to ICGD for continuing to play after this. I'm not sure why Brohan wasn't clearer about his interest ever, but it certainly sucked.

I thought scum was more obvious than usual at times but also they could just all suicide except Death and they would win at that point.

Game was quite unlikely to reach a point where it could be decided by curse too even though it ended up getting close. There were three possible extra kills, but the first poisoned thr second before the secomd one got theirs and then the third was used on the third.

Yeah that's a good shoutout. Major, major props to igcd for sticking through and really doing a lot of work in getting the only scum lynched.

oh one other thing

honestly my biggest complaint about my role was requiring to survive to d4 to get a second shot at using it.

fun role but you either use it n1 or risk getting nkd or having to claim

if I claimed my role without the chain hunt active I would have gotten lynched or nkd

first town role I wish had a safe list because I couldnt come up with a fake claim because of traits and not knowing game mechanics

Town was super strong yeah.
And Sultans role is just too controlling

oh and for the record I had just helped lead the Ulti lynch and figured my d1 town equity was lessened and my odds of having to claim would go up

This lacks context. He was asked how he knew Lea. He pointed out how he knew her to point out he indeed knew her in how he could with a prior username. At the very worse, he was prodded into it unintentionally.

Also FD is right and you are wrong, Ulti. Not that you care.

More than a few times during the early days I was like "How does he KNOWWWW"

Like at one point on an early night, after Ben outed the Tapp part:

as a casual observer, it's kind of frustrating to watch games being derailed by constant negativity

maybe I'm looking at the past through rose tinted glasses, but this past year of mafia has been very depressing

If you didn't want to get lynched then follow you own advice and don't type day 1. I didn't make you say suspicious things. I didn't make you fail to understand your role PM. I didn't make you pretend to be day scanned vanilla only to be confused about maybe possibly somewhat being unlynchable pgo.

Yeah, it was a mislynch, you were town, and that's something for me to learn from, but I was looking for scum in earnest and make decisions for the right reasons.

I don't know everyone's role in advance (that's kinda the point of these things?) and so you'll have to forgive me if I try not to be entirely results-based in my process. A certain amount of being incorrect is baked into being uninformed town.

If we didnt have a poisoner already, I would have turned the tape into a poison like kill that the targeted player can pass on by PMing another player with a copy of the tape and so forth

You are being entirely too self involved to declare the entire game was decided day 1 with your own mislynch. And I'm sure it's not fun to go out day 1, but please don't pretend that you didn't give us reasons just because those reasons happened to be wrong.

Red claimed miller not because the game was crazy but because scum didn't have a godfather. The game being crazy caused his miller claim to somewhat backfire, which he admitted himself.

But ultimately we got to read your PM. Your first one at least, the only one you had access to when you died and it very clearly did not say you had any kind of ability. Meanwhile you insisted in DTC that we lynched "confirmed town power" which you absolutely were not. You being given a 2nd role with powers after you died doesn't mean you weren't actually just a claimed vanilla at the time.

My flavor knowledge was about the only value I brought my team, unfortunately. I can't play scum for the life of me. It's hard for me to suspect someone on 'gut' or 'vibes' in the early days, and then everything I see later just leads me back to my team, and I didn't want to draw attention to them.

Hopefully my terrible claim, and my seeming to escape every day somehow (largely thanks to Corrik) was at least entertaining. I thought I was getting lynched for sure day 2, and I was confused by my survivor role, which I thought meant I had to guess if someone was a survivor or killer, and was like "Well what's the point of that?"

I think Death's role was fair, but mostly because our team was small. And it was a fun idea tied to Sadako. Town probably should have had a bit more of a hint to its existence though. There was the opening post, but I don't know how many people read that.

It was a fun game, though. Thanks again for hosting Isquen. Great job with the flavor and everything.
