There is no reason for Israel to stop.

The war is unpopular outside of Israel. So? What can we do. All the nations (France, England and USA) that need to support them do?

The solution would be to decolonize and create a Palestinian state. But the Americans will never do that. America is also a colonized nation and if one nation is forced to decolonize people will start asking if other nations can do that too, and they don't want that.

This isn't the first time the USA has let a genocide happen somewhere in the world. If they can use this to exploit more wealth out of the third world no one will stop them.

That's very possible, and an excellent reason why once IDF are no longer a genocide threat, Hamas still need to be next to disappear.

What is decolonizing to that region? How many regimes have had control over that land? Both sides of the conflict have ancestral ties to that land and maybe nations have held it.

People that talk about decolonization don't think that far ahead.

A cease-fire would be possible only if all 239 hostages held by militants in Gaza are released, Netanyahu said in a televised address.

The Israeli leader also insisted that after the war, now entering its sixth week, Gaza would be demilitarized and Israel would retain security control there. The position appears to run counter to post-war scenarios floated by Israels closest ally, the United States, which has said it opposes an Israeli reoccupation of the territory.

Asked what he meant by security control, Netanyahu said Israeli forces must be able to enter Gaza when necessary to hunt down militants.

Is Hamas currently the gazan military? If so, any peacefire would require removal of Hamas in any leadership and military form right?

BTW Germany technically WAS wiped off the map. After ww2, til the fall of the Berlin wall, there was no Germany. Western Germany and Eastern Germany were not just nicknames for regions. They literally were nations. That didn't merge back til the wall came down

I mean, the Korean solution is not exactly ideal, especially for those stuck in the North, but it's better than what's going on in Israel and Palestine. It can't be the end result here, but perhaps as an interim measure it could be well worth considering.

Of course, a big difference is that South Korea is a pretty good guy country, and while North Korea are far from good, the vast majority of their actions (as far as international matters go) are threats rather than actions, and even their occasional actions are tiny in scale compared to anything Hamas and Israel do (outside of the initial Korean War, obviously). Not sure if it would work out half as well. But it can't hurt to put the option on the table.

"We won't stop genociding until there's no one left to genocide" is usually how it goes.

You can't have a DMZ when one side doesn't have an M.

Or even control over their own electricity and drinking water.

Thats exactly what they did. They knew Israel was going to retaliate overly harshly killing high number of civilians and collective punishment.

This was do or die for Hamas, they were on their last rope basically once Saudi Arabia was going to ally/recognize Israel it was going to be the end of the chance of the Palestinian state prospects, so they had to do something to show how wrong Israel is and prove to the Saudi's they shouldnt be allied with, thus the terrorist attack.

Saudi Arabia immediately put a halt to its plans to ally with Israel on like the 10th of October. Mission Accomplished.

Thank Allah. It would have been a disaster if Israel had made friendly ties with Saudi Arabia.
