Maybe people don't know how to poll Gen Z, because I've seen lots of weird results that don't really make sense.

A lot of them are being taken in by right-wing/redpill/manosphere influencers.

There is an attempt at making Gen Z look more right-wing than it is by a long-shot. Gen Z is going to be so left it will make Millennials uncomfortable.

I do have fears about the younger gen z, and older gen alpha males though with Logan Paul and Andrew Tate being mentors. We'll see if that eventually corrects itself

Gen Z range here has it at 89% this year. I think it's just indicative of the 18-30 dem being very hard to poll.

Gen Z probably has negative views of marriage in general. Those kids love a throuple.

This also doesn't jive with the polls that show gen z is like 90% LGBT.

from what I've seen, the Gen Z people who are right wing are so right wing they consistently actually think "anything left of nazism is communism"

but these are also the extreme minority in my experiences. as the generation probably most impacted by the past 40 years of policies just hammering down the lower-middle class further and further no shit Gen Z is going to not be conservative.

They still support gay marriage less compared to younger generations, as this poll shows. Not that I put any stock in it.

Yeah assuming this poll is legit that's probably why Zoomers are less supportive of gay marriage despite being otherwise more LGBT+ friendly than other gens.

Putting aside whether that is actually true or not, it is considered in regards to economic views. So it doesn't apply even in the abstract here.

With the population being the size it is, it's easy to cherry pick locations where the opinion can shift to fit whatever narrative you want.

Although if I'm being absolutely honest, from the gen Z folks I interact with, I would say the opinion on marriage in general is falling as opposed to just gay marriage.

fair enough. I would be surprised if my generation just stopped supporting gay marriage as they aged. But I woudnt be surprised if we became more fiscally conservative as we acquire wealth. And sometimes social and economic views are conflated.

One thing Ive noticed too is that as you get older the left moves farther left so even if you are exactly the same you will appear to be "more conservative" by comparison, so the older you are the more likely you will have drifted right over time even if your views dont change

It's not that people become more conservative as they get older, it's more what is conservative changes as each generation trends more left.

People's personal political views don't usually shift too much once they're an adult.

Maybe it's because support for marriage in general is dropping.
