What do you call polls that show all Republicans beating Biden then?

A demonstration on why using polls to predict elections is folly.

According to polling AND historical trends Dems should have gotten crushed in like the last 4 elections and the only major victory by the GOP was a 5 seat majority in the House which has become an albatross around their neck.

If that was the case Virginia wouldn't have Democratic majority state legislature now. They got that because most young people are still voting Democrat and now in higher numbers than before. And during an odd year election where turnout is always lower than a presidential year.

Joe Biden was not on the ballot in Virginia. Or Kentucky.

Why are people deluding themselves saying this nonsense over and over?

With Joe Biden at the top of the ticket.

The same Joe Biden who polling says 70% of 18-34 year olds are completely against, due to his stance on what's going on in Palestine. The same Joe Biden who's current favorability is hovering in the mid to late 30's.

People keep pointing to this, ignoring that the Republicans expanded their Senate totals in 2018, which led to Trump appointing additional Supreme Court judges.

What led to those appointments is Dems don't play the bullshit games Republicans play when it comes to nominating and voting on judicial candidates. It's one of the areas they are most disappointingly ineffectual in because they allowed McCon to just steal Garland's nomination vote for 8 months cause "muh election", then made no real opposition to Gorsuch, who replaced Scalia, they had a laughable hearing for Kavanaugh, and rammed Barrett through 2 weeks before Trump lost an election with Feinstein hugging Graham and saying it was the best hearing she'd ever been to or something.

Even if the Dems had a supermajority in 2018 they'd still have voting on Trump's candidates and most likely would still vote for their approval.

What led to Trump getting those judges is him winning in 2016 because people didn't accept him for the threat he was even though millions of us were saying it since 2015.

You are forgetting that the US gen electorate has a very short memory when it comes to politics. This conflict is still happening a year away from the election. As long as it doesn't drag on too long and if the U.S. can successfully negotiate the ceasefire/an actual resolution to this, there's a lot that can happen until then.

Like I said in another recent post, none of these elections have been about liking Biden, it's been about rejecting Trumpism and the extremity of the Christo-fascist GOP.

Dems need to be squeaky clean and perfect to get elected. Republicans can say and do whatever they want, threaten to fight people, and attempt to overthrow the government and still get elected. Dems don't have that luxury. Avoiding critical failures is a must for Dems and ignoring the calamity that is how Americans currently view Biden should be alarming. Hoping they just forget about it is ignoring the problem.

Biden needs to be proactive here. He needs to appease his constituents, not corporate interests. As of a week ago, something like 60% of Americans wanted a cease fire and 6% of Congress did. The disconnect between Democrats and their voters is alarming. They're taking their voters for granted, because of Abortion, or Fascism, and these were all warnings Hillary put forth to the voter, and they rejected it.

That's a nice little dodge in the language.

I don't think the settlers are the ones engaged in attacking Palestinians? The soldiers are doing that so the settlers can come in and occupy?

If it reads in the way I'm cynically looking at it, there are no people to sanction.

No, they are
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/israel-gaza-west-bank-settler-violence-palestinians-rcna123311
Eisas killing, near their village of Tekoa, is part of what the United Nations, human rights groups and locals say is a surge of violence by extremist Israeli settlers and security forces against Palestinians in the West Bank since Oct. 7. While international attention has been focused on Hamas terror attack and Israels aerial and ground assault of Gaza, watchdogs say the killings here have been encouraged and even aided by Israels security forces and hard-right government which has openly armed the settlers with rifles and military gear while whipping up anti-Palestinian rhetoric.

While there is no official confirmation of who killed Eisa, settlers wearing military uniforms is an increasing trend, according to watchdogs, and Murad says after years of living with these tensions he can distinguish between who is a settler and who is military.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/palestinians-say-israeli-settlers-are-seizing-west-bank-homes-by-force/ar-AA1k3z9G
The Ministry of Health in the West Bank says almost 200 Palestinians have been killed in the territory since Oct. 7, and the United Nations humanitarian relief agency OCHA says almost 1,150 people have been displaced from their homes there due to settler violence and land access restrictions.

Among those displaced are around 400 men, women and children from ethnic Bedouin families in the village of Wadi Al Seeq, according to Abu Basher, an elder from the community of Arab herders. He shared cellphone video with CBS News that appears to show armed settlers forcing him and others to leave at gunpoint at the end of October.

"People were bleeding, and women and children were screaming," he said. "I was terrified my wife and children would be slaughtered."

Basher said the settlers destroyed their homes and property, even their local school, and stole money, cellphones and valuable livestock.

"I am so depressed. All my hard work over the past 48 yearsall gone," he said. "I still haven't processed the shock I have lost all hope."

Some of the displaced Bedouins have been living in tents on land belonging to a neighbor temporary shelter while they try to get back on their feet.

Activist Mohammed Mattar was helping protect the Bedouins after they said they'd received death threats from the settlers, but it turned out it was Mattar who needed protecting.

He said settlers kidnapped him and two others, stripped them naked and then beat and tortured them for more than eight hours.

He was on the ballot in '20. Would you be so kind as to remind me how that turned out?

If the politics debate doesn't stop, some temporary blocks are gonna go out

You do know that American politics are inextricably entwined with the Israel/Hamas conflict, right?

2020 turned out with 12 million more people voting for Trump.

Assuming abortion or fascism will save us from DeSantis is astonishingly stupid. Dems aren't Republicans. If you don't listen to the base, they won't vote for you. 2016 showed this. Biden right now has worse favorables than Hillary.

Ignoring problems is how we'll get President DeSantis. And you won't have Bernie Bros to blame.

And Trump received 7 million fewer votes than Biden. You and I both know enthusiasm for Biden wasn't the driving force behind those 81 million votes.

Well at least Biden's gotten more popular since 2020, right?
