0 is probably the best place to start imo, then just go in chronological order. (0 -> Kiwami 1 -> Kiwami 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 5 -> 6 -> 7)

People say Like a Dragon (AKA 7) is a good starting point too and I guess I sorta agree since it stars a new cast. But I think some of the old cast does show up from time to time, so there may be spoilers, direct or indirect, for past games involving the old cast.

Plus I personally REALLY didn't like the RPG mechanics in LAD/7 which is... weird. Because I LOVE RPGs and I LOVE Yakuza. It was a literal match made in heaven and they somehow fucked it up. But I guess your mileage may vary on that.

For some reason its out on the 8th on XBOX and 9th on PS5 over here.

You are in a very small minority with that opinion of 7.

You can definitely hop on 7 early and be fine (I played it after playing 0, K1, K2). But you'll definitely get more out of 7 if you play all of them beforehand

I feel like Y7 spoils Y6, but if you're already aware of this upcoming game and Y8, then it doesn't really matter.

I am aware. Honestly I can't even pinpoint my exact issue with it. Something about it just... doesn't click with me, and never has.

I still haven't beaten it to this day. Every time I try I just give up midway through the game. I think the furthest I've gotten was like... Chapter 7, or something.

I've been meaning to just watch the rest on Youtube so I can catch up (besides 6, haven't caught up with 6 either beyond the beginning of the game) but I've been lazy.

It kinda does, but you won't know the context of the spoiler in 6 until you actually play that part in 6, if that makes any sense >_>

And yes, with Gaiden and 8 showing all that in the trailers, it doesn't even matter anymore lol

From what it sounds like, you need to know the context of 6's ending before you go in this. Maybe the end part of 7 too? I'm not sure on the latter tho

Think of it as having a ton of games to slowly work through when you have nothing to play. Even if it takes years, aint nothing wrong with that

Yeah, I'm just going to go through on release order including the Judgements but excluding Ishin. That way I can be caught up on the ones that are connected and start playing them as they come out. Then I'll play Ishin when there is a lull in connected releases.

Yes. The one on the right is a streamer/vtuber known as KSon that won a contest/skills show to be featured in the game.

It's only 50 bucks I think

There still will be more to do in it than the Kaito Files DLC. Now that was way too short. This Gaiden game's main story is at least twice along as that one and plus more side stories and activities.

I'm excited for this only a few more days.

Just start with 0. The Ishin game is honestly one of my lesser liked Yakuza games >_>

Yeah, Ishin feels like a worse Yakuza 3.

It doesn't tie into the main series in any way, so start with 0. Ishin is basically like a period movie in which all the characters are played by people throughout the Yakuza series. They aren't themselves

nah. i played yakuza 0,1 and 2. although i love them, i think im done with the yakuza games. i refuse to play the next gen yakuza games because 3,4,5 look so outdated and i would never play them and i doubt they would remake them to modern standards. i think im done and thats ok, i had an awesome time with the three games.
