I veer towards organic.

He gets spider powers which includes being able to produce web

i like the web shooters better, the organic grosses me out and i like the shooters as an invention

Mechanical because I love the science side of Spidey. It also adds danger for when it runs out on the job.

Mechanical/artificial is the original method and also serves to combine his strength and powers with his intellect, which I always liked.

Also, it opens up avenues for drama within a battle because he can run out of web or have his shooters damaged.

Organic, cause you'd think someone with spider powers would be able to produce webbing.

Him not having organic webbing is silly . He was bitten by a Spider and he has no uniquely spider traits. His poweset could be that of a any bug man. Heck he could be Ant-Man.

Crawls on walls.
And lift a lot compare to their size.
Seems to know where hits come before they come.

There you go he is ant man.

Beyond that if Peter can make his own webbing . His aunt/mom should not be worried about money every week.

i dont like the implication that hes shooting webs THROUGH his skin when its organic. Like where is it coming from? there has to be a ton of it constantly being made considering the shit he does with his webs. Does it just rupture through his wrists every time?

How is his skeletal and muscle structure able to handle such heavy lifting? How does his brain have extrasensory abilities?

mechanical is better i think. it reinforces the smart genius guy character trait

Mechanical works better narratively generally but I do think its weird and a little far fetched, even with the conceit of a boy with radioactive spider powers, that he came up with a fluid and a web shooter that can support swinging through a city. Like its so stupid.

I mean not all powers need to have real world explanations or even make sense, but organic webbing is just gross enough to make me question it more.

Mechanical. I don't want a super hero who shoots his sticky body fluids everywhere.

I prefer organic, but that does make less sense for how he uses them.

Perhaps combine both ideas. Maybe he can secrete a chemical that becomes webbing when exposed to air. But he can't shoot it, and it's limited to what he can produce. Which would lead to him creating a device to harvest and store it for him, which can also project it out like he needs it to be.

That way he still runs the risk of running out and needing to find capsules, but also leaves the door open for him producing less efficient webbing over time when needed. Maybe used in hand to hand combat rather than a ranged attack.

Give him both

Organic web, add a wrist device that changes the shape or utility of the web, like his web shield in Marvel vs capcom, or webdome and web fists from PS1 Spiderman

Makes more sense to be organic. But mechanic is a cool concept too, makes for a better way of upgrading/modifying web shooters.

I wouldnt say naturally. Its a big ask to buy hes that intelligent, that capable.

Organic brings up too many questions regarding his anatomy that the Raimi films arent interested in answering, so I prefer mechanical. Smart guy makes device and mixes chemicals is enough for me.

I'm okay with mechanical if he's just filling cartridges with his own webs for later usage because of the well-established Spiderman refractory period.

would definitely prefer both. it makes total sense to be organic because that's what spiders already do.

but one of peter parker's defining abilities is supposed to be his super genius status, which is a great reason to have it mechanical. but then it begs the question why he stopped at web shooters. dude should be, like beyond batman in terms of gadgets but he chooses not to, no idea why not.

but if it was organic and he found a way to make it mechanic from his organic powers, that makes the most sense to me. he's the only know that would know about his anatomy and powers. and he weaponizes it. makes sense.

I like both. Organic is cool for making him more of a spider. Super strength, agility and precog aren't the first thing I'd attribute to being "spider superpowers", but mechanical is nice to explore Pete's scientific side

Like Splinter being Hamato Yoshi or being a pet of Hamato Yoshi.

This along with the fact that he's able to change the composition this way. Allowing him to create things like webbing that conduct electricity. Or webbing that contains an antidote to a serum a villain has absorbed. The possibilities are endless
Organic is just web and will always be just web, there is little more you can do with that.

He should produce the web from his butt and then use mechanical slingers on his arms

This. If it's organic, he can never improve it in any way. It all being mechanical means he he can tweak the formula for different kinds and uses.

He should have both.

His normal web is used for things like general travel and combat. Its super strong, Element resistant, and breaks down over time. He always has it on hand.

Then he had the synthetic webs that are like a batman gadget that can do anything. Act as electrical wire, acidic, nano machines, whatever.

I do not understand the people actually liking organic because of the fact that it can run out for plot tension. Its nothing but a lazy cop out in writing.

I could get with organic if it didnt come out of his wrists and it came out of his abdomen

Interesting criticism when the non-lazy non-cop out writing is accepting that a teenager can invent that webbing because hes smart.

"Spidey runs out of webbing" is such a lame and overused trope and it really shouldn't be used in anything that isn't the character's very early days.

I'll never get that criticism. You're watching/reading about a universe where a dude invented a high tech armor using some junk they had laying around in a cave. Where people regularly invent interdimensional travel, faster than light engines,... and you get hung up on a teenager inventing shootable rope.

Im not hung about it, I accept it because ultimately the pros outweigh the cons, but even in that universe its far fetched and the greatest gap in logic you have to accept in the conceit of a radioactive spider person.
