There's no need for CDs when money markets can be treated like cash and get basically the same rate of return. I love the monthly interest payments.

Our MMA is making 2%, our CD is making 5.6%. That's a huge difference on $2MM.

i agree our MMA should be a lot higher, but it has a much lower minimum than other places - and 5.6% is still higher with the only caveat being I lose 3 months of interest if I pull it early. I'm this hypothetical scenario I'm getting an extra $8k~ in returns a month from the $2MM so I think I'll be okay haha.

Damn. You've given it a lot of thought. My thought goes as far as "a nice house".

I already have a property thats rented out through a property manager, and I hate it. Its definitely not headache free.

I would do the same as Starks, add it to our investments. Maybe I would take some for our home remodel, around $500k. (We havent got any bids yet, so thats a rough estimate.)
Well knock on wood it was worked out tremendously for me. Appreciation alone has been amazing, but the extra income I get every month pays expenses. Property manager handles all the calls so I'm never bothered. Plus the tax benefits. I get to write off a decent amount.

Pay off house then live rest of life in comfort.

Mortgage is the by far highest portion of monthly expenses, after that's gone I'd have more disposable income than I'd know what to do with tbh
