The potential law will now get the standard procedure where pros and cons are evaluated. This means they intend to have it become law.

If it becomes law, employees at public agencies including healthcare providers and schools, will have to report any people they encounter who are in the country illegally.

I dont think it goes against any EU laws. The EU doesnt want illegal immigrants. Hence them paying countries to stop immigrants.

Swedens current Government govern based on the so called Tidavtalet (the Tid Agreement) which the far-right Sweden Democrats got plenty of political wins in.

The Moderate Party is what I tend to call Conservatives. They are a bit like the Tories in the UK etc.

Ja. We are part of the Galactic Federation.

Economic migrants are increasing and people are becoming more untrusting. A lot of minorities are going to be quiet on their front. This will give the ones who wanted to report the power to. Most people tend to do the decent thing.

One big problem of illegal immigration in the EU is the lack of documents.

They have no papers, no ID, nothing, so no one knows who they are or what they did before, not even checking fingerprints or anything at all. Doesn't help that the countries don't want to document wandering migrants either, as long as they can assume that they leave the country to travel into another country (looking at eastern europe).

Caused quite some ruckus 8* years ago in Germany / Greece.

America isn't the whole world, of course, but you'll have a hard time convincing me that laws that say, "You People can't come in," is de facto racist.

In Australia if you dont provide your tax file number (something you will only have if youre a legal resident or on a visa) to an employer not only do you still get taxed, but youre automatically in the highest bracket. Its kinda hard to avoid paying tax when its automatically taken from your pay before it even reaches your bank account.

Is this something other countries just cant figure out?

Idk how it is in Sweden but in the US it's been repeatedly shown that most people here illegally do pay taxes AND don't substantially benefit from them. Or put more simply, they put in more than they get out, which is the exact opposite of the typical rhetoric you see on that subject.

that's assuming that employer and employee go through all the legal steps according to labor rights.

Im pretty sure the ATO (Australian Taxation Office) doesnt fuck around so employers would be doing so at quite a risk.

At least I'm in the EU, so I would think that it's at least somewhat the same:

Mostly construction sides, hairdresser, private home care, and small stores owned by "friends".

Undocumented immigrants typically perform really tough labor for very poor compensation, because they aren't in a position to negotiate. The gig economy companies exploit this a lot, as do cleaning contractors, building contractors, berry suppliers, etc etc. So they don't necessarily pay taxes, but they still contribute a fair bit to society. Many would be surprised how much of our buildings (both private and public) get built and cleaned by undocumented workers. There was a case recently where the prime minister's cleaning staff turned out to be an undocumented immigrant, and she was sent out of the country.

Damn, Sweden putting that new right-wing government to work, I see.
