Yeah it's over folks. Most of the claims were outdated or bullshit, and it was a smear campaign by Shadyvox and a crazed stalker, who basically used this person who's a bit too eager to out people with false or misleading tweets and circumstances to attempt to cancel LittleKuriboh

But LK had the receipts and most of the credibility of the accusers were called into question. The initial accuser apologized and retracted all the accusations

One bump. Tbh I don't expect a non-cancelling to garner that much attention, but hopefully people don't think LK's just being overlooked despite controversy or anything like that.

I'm glad. I don't mind awful people being "cancelled" for doing or saying something awful, as I just see it as a form of boycott/protest where people are mad they can actually be effective, however it's never ok when it's made up accusations.

This was the person that had no evidence aside from dude trust me right? Not surprising

I think the thing that still gives me absolute whiplash about this situation was how utterly arrogant and self-assured Tara was in the opening to her document. It just reeks of self-righteousness and immaturity. As if we needed more proof that these situations did not need to be litigated in the court of public opinion.

This person's (Tara Welker) big expos from the last topic began with "I've always been 100% right about these things in the past and I know I'm right about this."

The long and short of it is that there was a smear campaign against Vinny in 2021 from this guy and a few others, but it was so fake that it ended up canceling GPM instead.

Basically, fans dug through the allegations and found out most of it was faked, hearsay, or how the "worst" of it simply amounted to "consensual relations with a fan", so there was massive backlash against the accusers. At the time, GPM was also recently kicked out of Vinesauce for embezzling charity funds for his own personal needs, so he even had motive.

For his part, Vinny lawyered up and went on a hiatus (at the time feeling burnt out on streaming and unsure if he was going to continue even after the incident blew over), while GeePM lost most of his subs and nuked his reputation.

GPM (former member), Red Bard (a Youtuber), and some other people ran a hoax against him. Thankfully, it was so shoddily constructed that it fell apart pretty quickly. It rattled him pretty badly and he had to take some time off.

Thank you for the explanation and the links. I remember watching that video when it came out, but I remember nothing of it. If I get the time for it, I'll read through the GPM stuff and maybe rewatch the video to see if I can pick up what some of the commenters are talking about.

they started off a document detailing how much of a clout chaser they were, the fact people took it seriously reflects more on the people than her lol. People wanted to be out for blood and thirsty for vengeance without verifying anything in the story and now have been caught with egg on their face

tl;dr, this chick posts a long ass google doc talking about how LK and TFS "knew" about the abuse some people they mildly associate with was doing and wasn't outspoken about it enough so now she wants to cancel them even though this happened like a decade ago

TFS and LK released their own doc calling these claims BS and said they were told to not bring it up by lawyers and friends and stuff and handled it internally instead of making a dog and pony show about it, and then LK exposed one of the accusers as being a stalker who they had to ban from their cons for harassing them for a long time. Upon that reveal that person very promptly "took a break from twitter"

now i guess some more stuff happened and this clout chaser who made the initial document is now walking everything back because they look stupid now

Hearing the name ShadyVox is so, so weird. Back a long time ago (early 10s) there was a podcast called Wha-Chow! and he was a regular on it for a while. LittleKuriboh had posted about the podcast on YT sometime around then and I remember listening to it a ton.

A lot of the people on that podcast turned out to be fucking sickos. I think Zito is the only name that bounces around that was on a lot who walked away unscathed (besides the women, who were all treated like shit.)

Seeing him turn out to be a potstirrer like twelve years down the line is bizarre

I knew Shadyvox most from his GX abridged. I dunno how much xthedarkone had impact in it but I really really liked it, and Shady was a funny voice actor in his own right.

It's a big shame what happened along the way, and the long story short is that he turned hard right and had a disagreement with LK, but not before threatening him that he will ruin LK's reputation one day.

His rap career didn't really take off, and now he's most likely reverse cancelled, like how the thing with that one guy in the Vinny situation happened.

I'd totally listen to a LK rap album using his Yugi voice.

LK's made some pretty good humor raps back in the days, though they were all covers with different lyrics. Shady did a cover of that one song with YGO lyrics for that YGO movie abridged mash up they did some time back. He seemed pretty good at it though I don't listen to rap much, but not somebody I would listen to on a regular basis

I had a feeling there was too much BS around this one from the very beginning. I follow LK and TFS people on Twitter and their responses were immediate and thorough. They didn't seem like they had anything to hide.
