It's really stalemate-y. Like games with 30 minute timers on the map will end in a draw for the objective.

i'm pretty sure 2fort was deathmatch.

Voted Gravel Pit but really I'd take anything except 2fort. 2fort CTF was sooooo boring.

2Fort on 360 was great for all the glitches that were never patched

Your average 2fort experience usually involves 5 snipers stood together on the battlements, 3 engineers spending the entire game sitting in the Intel room with their sentries and lots of tight corridors making it easy for soldiers and demomen to spam.

I think it's one of the worst CTF maps. It is possible to win though unlike Hydro which pretty much ends in a stalemate 99% of the time.

like, i get it, everyone complains about it because you can't get away from it, but that's no fault of the map itself.

CTF is a bad mode in and of itself, but 2Fort is also itself very tough on an attacker. There's some extremely long and tight pathways to the intel, and there's like no health kits available on the way. You also have to go right across the enemy spawn both ways, or go ti the open area right near the spawn that inevitably has 7 engies nesting there. The intel room itself already has 3 too

If you want to play 2Fort as a real match you need an extremely well coordinated push, which is tough to find in TF2 at the best of times.

Its largely used as a DM/goof map but It hink its not even good for that because there's no good place to fight

My favorite server was a 24/7 2Fort where I made a lot of friends so it wins for me

i'm not at odds with this.

Not a single vote for a Control Point map. I'll be honest, in most of my hours I played A/D, King of the Hill, and Payload. I'll have to fire up Well and Granary before I vote

The issue with TF2 2Fort is that it is a gigantic reduction in size compared to OG 2Fort. While TF2 movement is a far cry from TF and TFC, the fundamentals are still there, and 2Fort is simply too small and narrow to accommodate with its layout.

That said, Granary.

2Fort is home.
Unless you're on the attack team with all the Scouts and Spies. Playing defence with the Engie/Pyro team is peak comfort.

Dustbowl is fun too but the game has outgrown the map.

For me I think it's between Granary and Gravel Pit.

Poor Well got no votes, even Hydro got a vote. Well is a weird map, with open windows you can't jump through and several stories high enclosed space that sort of leads nowhere above the chokes between the 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th points.

tc_hydro is a terrible map in rotation, but some of the most rewarding gaming I remember was from a dedicated tc_hydro server. The wars to break defenses and finally capture the enemy's final point, sometimes going for hours, felt extremely memorable and satisfying.

Gravel Pit brings back some good memories.

2fort is one of those so bad that its good.

Of the options only Granary is playable at a competitive level.

The rest of those maps are awful and have aged horribly.

6v6 tf2 makes me sad. There's about ~4 classes in play and only that many because two of them are capped at 1 per

It's definitely the most competitive format. HL is fun but more casual and 4s is just a meme

It's just for me a big part of the fun of TF2 is the chaos of 12v12 and maps built for multiple skirmishes happening at once at the choke and along the wings.

I prefer playing offensively so when 2fort rolled around in the rotation I almost always decided that was enough. Post #9 pretty much nailed the issues I had with that map. I wasnt a fan of it even in the TFC days.

Gravelpit was my favorite of the original maps. A lot of good ways to break a turtle on that one which made offense more fun than just meat grinder until you got enough good ubercharges going

That's fine, I'm just talking from experience. I've played several seasons of Competitive across all formats.
