Who put this serious, emotional, and very well-written human drama in my racing anime? Fuck... Overtake has been so good, and it's sad that it seems like almost no one is watching it. This is why I actively look for original anime to watch at the start of each season, because originals are where I find gems like this.

This episode was basically like if you took that one screenshot of Joseph Joestar saying "You may have outsmarted me, but I outsmarted your outsmarting!" and turned that into an entire episode. I loved it.

If I'm interpreting this announcement right, we're getting a brand new project called Project Symphogear -next-, which there are no details about yet, and we're also getting what seems to be a movie remake of the first season, but updated with better animation and the updated artstyle of the later seasons.

On episode 30 or so of Monster. This is like the least anime anime Ive ever seen. Feels like a serious live action show.

Since it's the start of December, we're also starting to get close to the end of the Fall 2023 season and the start of Winter 2024 season.

So what's everybody going to be watching next season? I only saw 6 shows that I'm interested in, so it's looking like a light season for me:

* Chained Soldier
* Delicious in Dungeon
* Gushing over Magical Girls
* Metallic Rouge
* Sasaki and Peeps
* Sengoku Youko

Unfortunately, half of those (Chained Soldier, Metallic Rouge, and Sengoku Youko) have a decent chance at being beyond my gore tolerance based on what I know about them so far. I really hope Metallic Rouge and Sengoku Youko are watchable for me, because I'm really excited for those two in particular. They both sound amazing and look hype, plus Metallic Rouge is an original anime and Sengoku Youko is confirmed for a three-cour airing that will most likely adapt the entire manga (and that manga seems to have a pretty high rating on MAL) too so there won't be any "fuck you go read the source material" non-ending for either of those.

Oh, and in addition to those 6 shows, I also have Soaring Sky Precure and Apothecary Diaries that will be continuing into next season, plus next year's Precure series (the trademark already leaked, it's called Wonderful Precure) starting in late February.

Definitely continuing with Frieren, but beyond that? I really dunno.

However, I have seen a lot of good things about the month of April. I am excited about April

Gushing is going to have three different versions released, with the Blurays being uncensored. I plan to wait, cause the version that's going to be airing in January sounds like the "Why even bother?" version.

Damn Frieren making me tear up.

A lot of the episode had to do with two people discussing their belief/non belief in God. When my wife was alive we had a lot of conversations about such things as she was a very spiritual person (not religious, spiritual) and I am not.

Towards the end of their conversation the religious one asks, "Who will you have to praise you and your accomplishments?" and it made me miss my wife more than I normally do.

Really powerful episode just in general, moreso obviously for me. LOL
