I just got my escrow analysis paperwork yesterday, and unless I cut them a check for $715 my payment will go up by $105 starting in June :(

Or I can pay that $715 and it'll only go up by $60 :(

But congrats! Just be prepared for it to change at least a little bit each year assuming your escrow is included in the payment

Mine went up like 40 bucks in the first year. It didn't go up the second year.

Thanks! And yeah I've been alerted it'll be fluid. Taxes really are a fucking meme. Like hey bro your town hasn't changed in a year but you owe us $600 more this year for some reason. Enjoy!

Got my house last July and I got a check of $1400 from my escrow a couple weeks ago. Guess they overestimated the taxes

Exactly. That's the other side of the scam. If the market plummets and my home value tanks, you think the government is gonna lower property taxes? Absolutely laughable.

My parents actually had their payment decrease one year because their valuation tanked

The one time they were thankful to have a couple of super trashy neighbors on the block because theyre pretty sure that had something to do with all the values dipping lol

It's how they justify the thousands in closing costs; they deliberately create thousands of pages in paperwork and then value themselves by being the ones who translate it all for you to just sign and pay.
