Asus.

to elaborate it's the asus c302 from circa 2017. it's quite a nice build and a pretty blatant macbook knockoff in looks. aluminum unibody, still gets 10 hours battery life with no major glaring flaws, the model i have is 16gb of ram with an m7 processor. i modified the firmware so it would run pop os (linux). i have it connected to my 32" samsung m7 monitor now and it still keeps up.

i plan to retire it from the monitor soon though. going to get an hp chromebox g2 and strip out chromeos for pop os, get a good keyboard and mouse and connect it to my monitor for a mini pc with a better ergonomic experience.

A cheap gaming Acer I got at the beginning of the pandemic that I upgraded. The track pad sucks, but honestly it's held up much better than my previous Surface Book. That thing ended up being a completely overpriced piece of trash that hardly even works.

The only laptop I have is an old Toshiba laptop that has a fucked up screen. It randomly fucked up and no one had a fix. In fact, it was a common issue. I just went to PC and never got a new one

Costco special, but works decently. Can heat a room with it though.

Lenovo that I've had for about a year.

flex 5, I think

Prior to that I had an ASUS that lasted me around 8 years. The input for the power plug failed and I didn't feel like replacing it.

Dell G5 gaming laptop that i've had for a few years. overall good i guess but does have an annoying fan that none of the fan control options really work. like right now it's fine and it's being quiet and working correctly i think. but other times the fan will just go off whenever it wants and get super loud. really annoying when i'm in a video call for school and it revs up. battery life is getting pretty mediocre now too and might need to replace it soon. not sure how bad it'll be.

i had an asus gaming laptop before this and i had to take the whole thing apart to get to the battery. had to take the screen and keyboard apart and everything. takes like an hour just to switch out. just to get like 1.5 hours of battery life at best. but had the 1st battery completely die and it would power off if it wasn't plugged in. 2nd battery would only last like 10 minutes by time i switched it out. had the laptop 5-6 years.

that's crazy about the asus gaming laptop. you would think they would make that model of all models easily serviceable. mine is just a few screws and unplugs away from a new battery and it's just a low cost chromebook basically.

My primary PC isn't technically a laptop but rather a handheld; Ayaneo 2. If you're only counting literal laptops, my prior one (which I still have, but don't use anymore) was a Dell.

EDIT: Only major brand that I can think of that you forgot is Toshiba / Dynabook.

I got one of those too. Got a 256gb SSD which is pretty much windows. Came with a 1TB HDD that crapped out and since replaced with a 2TB hybrid.

I have an HP Pavilion Gaming laptop, 2018 model. i5 8300h, 1050TI, 16GB RAM. Still runs great though I did have to replace the battery a few months back. Paid about $750 for it, money well spent.

MSI - GP66L

Loud and hot, but powerful. For an under $2k laptop I'm surprised it can play most every game on ultra 4k. Half expected it to break at some point, but after nearly two years it's still going strong.

Other: Toshiba, it's served me well these past 8 years despite me putting it through it's paces, still looks good as new and works very well (I upgraded the RAM recently), I do have an issue with the screen randomly glitching and going off every now and then but that is all
