I've visited a suburb of LA once but... is SF really that bad where businesses keep closing and smash and grabs are that common?

This, stores ought to be able to hire security or at least have the cops do rounds regularly. Bunch of idiots don't realize they make things harder for themselves and others by behaving like animals.

Once Prop 47 was instituted, stealing up to $950 worth of merchandise is a misdemeanor whereas before people would get charged with felony-burglary

Organized crime theft has been pretty bad in SF because the district attorney made it known that he opposes prosecuting such cases

they closed down 2 of the portland walmart stores too as a result of theft. if they come down here and ruin the walmart that i go to once a month i'm going to be pissed.

since that is the only location where i don't have to pay safeway prices on certain items (unless they're on sale then typically it's cheaper than walmart).
