Underleveled 03/15/23 9:03:55 PM #2:	I barely count Tentacool & Tentacruel or the Tower of Terror as banned, since they were included in syndication in my childhood and have long since been unbanned (not to mention banning them was pointless to begin with since Tower of Terror was only banned for the name and the offending scene in T&T was literally left in the opening theme of every single season 1 episode). So with that in mind it's between Porygon and Dratini and I just barely give the nod to Porygon. The last two were only temporarily moved from rotation following 9/11 and we're probably nearing 20 years of them being available everywhere again. Its probably the Safari Zone one. Maybe I'm forgetting something, but some have also just been delayed. It aired in June 2000, then was rerun once that August, and has never again surfaced in any official form (not even on DVD). Furthermore, as far as I've been able to find, there's no recording of the dubbed episode as it aired available online. Any version I've found has the English audio synced to the Japanese episode, so it has the deleted Japanese scenes intact (with Japanese audio, obviously), and that duller, almost 80s-ish look that the first season had in Japan as opposed to the brighter, more polished restoration that they gave the dub (and noticeable cuts where they added the theme song and Who's That Pokemon... honestly I'm not sure why they went through the effort). One more curiosity about this episode. The episode Hypno's Naptime includes a flashback to this episode with Ash saying goodbye to Delia and Professor Oak on the beach, but only in the dub. In the original, the flashback is to them saying goodbye in Pallet Town. Weird that 4Kids would add a flashback to an episode they didn't originally intend to air. Japan takes "too soon" way more seriously than America does (hence why the earthquake and tsunami episodes never aired even after a long time had passed). They immediately posed a permanent ban on the episode and with the series in the process of coming to America, they didn't even give the episode to 4Kids in the first season package and Nintendo basically wiped it from history. One has people shooting realistic guns at children, one looks like garbage (and literally causes seizures), and one has a 12 year old in a bikini contest. It was a huge deal and the show (and a lot of other shows) still comes with a warning because of it. Not everyone was gonna like it if you put it on air again and said "we've fixed it" no matter how true that might be, it needed to be gone for any foreseeable future. I would not have personally minded, but it absolutely makes sense.
