I assume we at least have a few Deadly Premonition fans who made the jump.

Anyways, just picked up the full series collection which has both original seasons and the new season. It does not include Fire Walk With Me, however. Now, I haven't seen the new season at all, and I have never seen Fire Walk with me. My question is....should I bother picking up FWwM? I seem to recall people saying it wasn't good and also may not even be canon, but that was before S3 aired, so I don't know if that still holds true.

I love Fire Walk With Me and as scarlet said it is canon.

It's also been seriously re-evaluated over the last decade on its own.

Fire Walk With Me is a great movie and 100% necessary.

Fire Walk with Me is not just canon it is fairly essential for The Return. It not being included in most of the box sets is annoying. There is also The Missing Pieces, a 2014 film made from the deleted scenes of FWwM (yes there are 90 minutes of deleted scenes) that is canon too though you can skip that. While it is good and provides some context youll get The Return without it.

As for the reception of FWwM it got slammed when it came out but has since been reevaluated. Great film.

The Missing Pieces sounds intruiging, but it doesn't look like I can buy it physically without it being bundled with the first two seasons, so yeah that'll have to be a digital watch at some point.

I hope the quality of this thing is good! I originally watched the old seasons on Hulu and that was fine. The only bad feedback I'm seeing really is that the case is shit, and yeah it certainly is, but that's true for every high disk count jewel case that uses stacked disks. They can't all be the Steven Universe DVD Boxset.

Yeah Fire Walk With Me is both really good and absolutely essential if you want to watch The Return so yeah, go for that. Love seeing Twin Peaks on this board, btw! It's my all time favorite TV show and I was a huge fan before playing Deadly Premonition so you can imagine what kind of an experience that was.

best and worst part of Fire Walk With Me is Lara Flynn Boyle refusing to come back.

Fire Walk With Me is essential to the series but I think the Missing Pieces is more of a curiosity, and lore completionists would be better served reading The Secret History

I watched The Return and was relatively okay, but I also read Mark Frost's "The Missing Pieces" before starting so I had some semblance of many things.
