It's probably not something they can control, especially since they're such a small company.

All it takes is contracting a shipping partner in the US (hell, amazon will do it), to host and ship the merch for them.

As of last summer they had over 300 employees, so it's not unreasonable for them to rent a small warehouse space somewhere in the US for a couple grand a month, and ship locally if they knock that $150 shipping down to $10, not only will they sell a ton more merch the people already buying the merch will buy more. Instead of them leaving a whole bunch of money on the table, or it going to fedex/ups, it's going straight into cover's pockets.

Also, the usual suspects are currently in full denial mode saying "WE DIDN'T DO IT!" thanks to the Pikamee situation. They can't turn around and continue harassing or they'd get caught.

the shipping didn't used to be so bad, and then they switched to like... their own shipping method? I think? or I dunno they changed something and now the price has gotten completely ridiculous for some reason. when it first happened they put out some statement like "oh the shipping prices are messed up right now" and closed the store to fix it, but then it opened again and the prices are still super high so I can only assume it's intentional

No point trying to explain anymore. People gunna believe what they want and refuse to see any other view. To them those damn trans-folk harassed Pikamee and forced her too graduate. The company is just saving face.

There's literally no winner in these situations, it's best to accept she's graduating regardless of circumstances and let her go on with the next step in her life. Any continuing with the argument is pointless as circumstances already are what they are.

Also, the math folks pointed out that there's a good possibility she may be going to a bigger company as her graduation lines up in potential debut windows for both Hololive and NijiEN(both should be expecting something new in about 3~6ish months, apparently). So, may be seeing her again.

kson made it pretty clear that harassment played a big part though.

Pomu also tried really hard to tiptoe around the fact, but was a lot more vague and ended up saying a lot of nothing. Which I dont blame her for, since she knows how bad the drama can get. Unlike Finana.

Honestly, this is literally every vtuber company. The only reason you don't see it from Hololive is because they're managed like a traditional Japanese company I feel like and most others like a talent agency.
