I start the month doing the monthly tournament for the money + item, I use the sauna, the choir practice and the special meal for the monthly bonus. After that I cook more meals for anyone who isn't at max motivation. Is there really anything else to do? Also had a pretty good paralogue battle. It was the one with Caspar and Mercedes when they chase after the Death Knight. I never use those characters so when the battle began I hid in some bushes. Also when the battle began I missed a few shots against the NPCs so I wasted Divine Pulse a few times to try and correct that. Then out of no where an NPC with a bow started going after Caspar. I had to Divine Pulse a few more times to strategically prevent him from killing Caspar. These NPCs were 10+ levels higher than Caspar and Mercedes so they were getting two shotted. Dorothea (Dancer) and Lysithea (using warp) saved me though after I was down to my last Divine Pulse. The battle took me two hours but it left me cautious for future battles. Compsognathus posted... Bullheads and other fish are very plentiful if you stock up on bait every month and then spend them all on fistful of fish. That is incredibly tedious though. Speaking of Goddess Messenger and Marianne, I actually did get enough to make 9 Best of Fodlan. You get way more from doing auxillary battles, especially the bonus exclamation ones that the updates/DLC give which give like 12,000 (btw you are breaking Demonic Beast armor right? You should always do that every time. non-buyable ores are the rarest resource in the game.) I find Sauna more useful since the equivalent of making up for Sauna is broken weapon grinding which is really annoying. Whenever you fight monsters there are 4 yellow squares. You break them by targeting that square. Breaking all 4 squares yields rare ore, the only consistent ways to get them. Lizard and boss monsters require two hits to break their squares (other monsters start off with already cracked squares). They regenerate all their squares to full if they pull off their "gambit". Gambits/effective weapons break a "full square" in one hit and gambits also crack the square of other tiles they hit (although I guess you haven't been using gambits). Breaking a single square will cause them to get confused for one round where they wont counterattack the next hit (you can chain this by breaking a square one at a time). Breaking all their armor not only yields rare ore, it causes them to get fully confused for one turn where they won't counterattack for a whole turn. Yep, Brave Weapons/high tier 1-2-3 range weapons require Wootz Steel. Blessed, Sacred, and Regalia weapons (Rusted weapons which only randomly drop from Rare Encounter monsters so you probably haven't gotten any) require Mythril, Hero Relics require Umbral Steel. I especially stopped doing them after several playthroughs when my goal was just to get to the next chapter as efficiently as possible. So doing 6-8 arena toward the second half of the game was a good source of money. Also not doing auxs means it's easier to keep motivation topped up so you get the most out of tutoring and can have builds go online faster. This is even more important if you are saunaing. So if you do an aux before a week with tutoring your students will likely not be optimally motivated for the instruction. Now typically, especially early game it's not that big a deal because you have more students than points. But sometimes you want to rush certain students tutoring to hit benchmarks faster (like getting Dark Spikes before Death Knight, Warp as fast as possible, key combat arts, or A Authority on Dimitri so he can just murder everyone for the rest of the game). Trickster is terrible. It has a minor niche at letting them stay close to your units to heal because stealth, but halved magic ruins it. Honestly half-magic shouldn't even exist. Either you can spell or you can't. That said Dancer doesn't care about growths. It doesn't need any growths to do the only thing it should ever be doing. Dance. And be prepared to be extremely underwhelmed by Holy Knight. It basically plays identically to Dark Knight except it does less damage and is somehow worse at healing.
