Translation from the Yahoo article

Antonio Inoki has passed away. The former pro-wrestler turned politician was 79 years old. He was from Yokohama City.
He was born in 1943, and his father died when he was 5. When he was 13, his family had moved to Brazil for him to work in a coffee plantation. After having won a few fighting tournaments in Brazil, he had caught the eye of Rikidozan, who scouted him into wrestling. On 30 September 1960, alongside Giant Baba, he stepped into the world of pro wrestling and they made their debuts. In 1962 he had changed his name to 'Antonio Inoki'.
After having left the wrestling industry for a short and while and then returning, he married his first wife in 1971and proceeded to form New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1972. He and Giant Baba double-handedly built the wrestling industry in Japan from that point forward, paving the way for both major domestic and international success.
In 1989, he turned into a politician and was successfully elected into Japan's House of Councillors. It was the first time that a wrestler had turned into a politician in Japan. Some of his legendary achievements include negotiating the release of 41 captive Japanese hostages in Iraq, and producing the most attended sporting event in history in North Korea to help bridge relations between North Korea and Japan.

I feel like I never got to see as many of his matches as I should have. I've seen him wrestle Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, William Regal, Tiger Mask, Big Van Vader, and some wrestlers whose names I don't know offhand. I've probably only seen a dozen or so matches of his.

I watched a documentary on him and I've heard all of the stories about him and Muhammad Ali or how Bruno Sammartino disliked him. Even so, I mostly know him as the direct inspiration for Fighter Hayabusa in the NES game Pro Wrestling.

He was a legend of pro wrestling. There's no doubt about that. I'm sad to read about his passing and I'm sorry I didn't have a better picture of his overall career. The enzuigiri or "back brain kick" is one of the most bad ass moves in professional wrestling.

Just woke up to this news. My pro wrestling fandom wouldn't be complete without Inoki since New Japan has been such a big part of my life for the past 30 years. I remember always not really liking Inoki's work because my introduction to New Japan, outside of Muta [How I got into New Japan], was because of the Juniors. All Japan was the one with my Heavyweights I liked

Rest in Power. Thank you, for everything

But to break it down a bit more - Inoki, from the late 70s to the mid 00's, was the Vince McMahon
of New Japan Pro Wrestling.

He also was the one that put on the pro wrestling shows in North Korea that did 165,000 people with him against Ric Flair.

That ali fight would have been interesting on an open mat (no ropes, no cage) for ali to grab.

No.

No. I call Bullshit. Antonio Inoki can't die. Everyone knows that. He'd put death in an octopus hold.

What the hell is he up to.... Is he putting together an event in the underworld to liberate all the wrestlers past?
