I've seen him wrestle Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, William Regal, Tiger Mask, Big Van Vader, and some wrestlers whose names I don't know offhand. I've probably only seen a dozen or so matches of his. I watched a documentary on him and I've heard all of the stories about him and Muhammad Ali or how Bruno Sammartino disliked him. Even so, I mostly know him as the direct inspiration for Fighter Hayabusa in the NES game Pro Wrestling. He was a legend of pro wrestling. There's no doubt about that. I'm sad to read about his passing and I'm sorry I didn't have a better picture of his overall career.
