But then again if a hot Native American wanted to talk to me, let alone sing to me, I'd be all ears no matter what.

As always CE has to discuss actual history as opposed to the events in the movie, like what the TC was clearly alluding to.

She didn't even get with the correct dude. No clue with Disney decided to focus on John Smith for seemingly no reason.

HE wrote the story about how the Native women(girl in this case) were all over him.

The movie has a moment where magic wind makes them able to speak to each other.

Which is funny because her marriage to John Rolfe seemed to be very romantic and lovely.

From:

Though Smith is portrayed as Pocahontass love interest in the famous Disney movie, theres no evidence of any real-life romance between the two of them. In fact, Pocahontas was just 11 years old when she met him.

Growing up, Pocahontas dressed like other Powhatan children, which meant wearing minimal clothing. At a young age, she shaved most of her head. Among her people, only adult women could grow their hair long.

That would have gone over well in the Disney version.

I know they will. Its probably on the short list for the next major live action announcement after Little Mermaid. I have a feeling the next one will either be Pocahontas or Hercules

She wasn't treated like a circus freak at all. She was treated like an honored guest because she was. Plus her marriage was one that for all intents and purposes was built on love.

Even in the 90s Pocahontas got some flak for its rose tinted rewriting of history.

I can't imagine it gets remade in year of our Lord 2022 without a complete rewrite. Which could ironically turn it into the most worthwhile remake if they create something good.

But I suspect Disney will just sweep it under the rug.

I think I read somewhere that Disney's A team decided to work on Pocahontas because it looks more promising and they pass The Lion King to B team, expecting them to fail.

Yes they did, and the hilarious irony is The Lion King became a beloved legend, and Pocahontas was quickly forgotten by the majority due to the movie not being well received.
