I'm looking forward to watching this over a period of a few days. Have enjoyed most of his videos since the kotaku days. I do kind of miss the short videos (which were generally funnier and less emotionally crushing). That being said, I think the tokimeki memorial and doom reviews were brilliant.

this is coming from someone who definitely watched the entire nine hour long cyberpunk review though. honestly I treat it more like a podcast/background noise than I do a video.

I watched all of Cyberpunk, him straight up telling me not to just made my thirst stronger

I will rewatch Tokimeki at some point, that was more engaging than any movie in recent years.

i feel like discussion of this series exploded in the last year among certain gaming circles. Partly because of that new Crayon Shin-Chan game actually getting released in English, and I think also because of the closure of the 3DS eshop, where Attack of the Friday Monsters shows up a lot as a download this before its too late title. Its not technically part of the series but is made by the same people with a lot of the same qualities

I've been watching this premiere, and it's so weird watching one of these without knowing how long it is. I think it's been 5 hours so far and I thought it was definitely gonna end 2 hours ago.

Saw it pop in my subs earlier, so excited to watch this! I can't believe it's almost been a year since the last one.

one of his most popular reviews before this was of Tokimeki Memorial, why would "do I know this thing" matter at this point

No review will ever best Tokimeki, and I had never heard of that and will never play it!

I am waiting until this is done before watching but I popped in, saw a Seinfeld clip, and popped out.

But that was also when I realized I personally can't watch stuff like that

I'm enjoying this one more than the Tokimeki one, which I thought was only OK.

This game's very fascinating, I love it, even though I haven't heard of it until just now. It's also very easy to understand, I feel like I've basically played it already, just through his taking it apart.

In addition, at least 40% of this video is not even directly about the game, but rather, about life itself. Maybe even 50% or 60% of it (I'm not done yet). I don't think he's even mentioned anything about the game in the past couple of hours.

Really enjoying this video so far. Thank you to this board for always giving free advertisement to Tim Rogers because you got me hooked

Oops I was wrong about this, the video eventually circled back to being about the game. So maybe like 33% was not about the game.

Anyway, great video! I found it meaningful.

I was worried that season 2 would be too different than season 1, but it's pretty much the same, but perhaps more poetic this time, seems like...

The textual jokes that you have to pause the video to read, seem to be gone though. I liked those.

i think including interesting personal anecdotes can make any interview compelling even if I have never heard of the thing at all

I like the Tokimori video more but this is about on the same level. The self-interview segment is a little plodding but it really serves its purpose on connecting others' nostalgia to your own while reflecting on the other themes in the game.

Also following that long speech on mortality with that fucking shirt ad is a CRIMINAL level of mood whiplash. Incredible dark humor.
