Some people don't have the means to get those high level jobs. Some people do what they do cause they like it. Like I chose not to go college cause I got to watch my brother squirm getting hit with mail to pay his student loan..he still ain't paid that shit off and not worked a day in the industry he got it for. I like my job though. I'm burnt out cause mandatory overtime has been a bitch for years now but otherwise I love my job. Usually you expect more physical types to work in a prison. Not me I'm a reasonably intelligent person. I rarely get physical. I know and understand policy and just do paperwork if someone is breaking rules. Truth is you rarely get either in a prison. I like my job though. I'm burnt out cause mandatory overtime has been a bitch for years now but otherwise I love my job. Usually you expect more physical types to work in a prison. Not me I'm a reasonably intelligent person. I rarely get physical. I know and understand policy and just do paperwork if someone is breaking rules. Truth is you rarely get either in a prison. I make enough to live comfortably, I get the time off that I need.
