We know of them but we don't know their contents

We know the lost Homer Epics existed because we have found writings mentioning them. But the writings don't really say what the stories were about

Oh and tax write offs like Mexas XLR. Those are the fucking worst as you are deliberately making it go away, and unable to be shown or made anymore.

If you were offered to bring back one floor/section of the Library of Alexandria, it would basically be a random choice unless you're somewhat of a scholar on Ancient Rome. If you were asked to bring back one Nickelodeon game show, most people on CE would know exactly what they are doing when they make the choice

And I would pick the library. Why would I give up lost knowledge for an old game show?

To be fair not many of us were alive at the same time as the Library of Alexandria to know the lay out that well, but many grew up with those shows.

Todays shows are just the plays, and stories of the past, and one day too will be history, and possibly lost to the sands of time.

No nostalgia can overcome curiosity about ancient stuff that nobody even knows about

If someone offered to magically resurrect every lost Dr Who episode, or to materialize brand new manuscripts of the lost Homer Epics, I'd pick the Epics.

There are still people alive today who saw those Dr Who episodes. Nobody alive knows the Homer Epics. The last person who knew their contents died thousands of years ago. It's a historical mystery
We also got the audio to all Dr. Who episodes, which makes it even easier to pick the Homer Epics.
But what about this...
The Homer Epics or all pre-WWII lost Japanese movies? That should be around 7000 movies.

DMCat or DmcCat

Was some unfinished game that a lone dev created for fun. You play as a cat that can do combos and stuff. Was prob not meant to be a finished game but still fun to experiment with.. it played faster than the dmc games (prob more like ninja gaiden speed) and also has an inertia mechanic like DMC 4. Discovered it after some dmc 4 fans were poking fun at dmc 5 for gimping the inertia mechanic. They mentioned the cat dmc game. I can't find their tweets and game cant be found through english google search. So to me it is lost media.

I had it installed on my old pc but its wiped now after I upgraded my mobo and cpu.

There are a number of lost films I'd like to see:

  • King Kong Appears in Edo (unlicensed King Kong movie)
  • Beast of Berlin (silent film about the most evil German of all time, Kaiser Wilhelm!)
  • Dracula's Death (a man in an asylum believes he's Dracula and therefore bulletproof)
  • The Werewolf (a silent short in which a Native American woman transforms into a wolf to defend her tribe against White settlers)
  • London After Midnight (the most famous lost film of all time)
  • Frontier Marshal (the first retelling of the Wyatt Earp story, remade as My Darling Clementine)
I would say that I'd like to see the missing spider pit sequence from King Kong, but I honestly don't believe it was ever filmed.

Lots of porn, lots of early 80s mexican dubs of anime, some extremely obscure American made-for-tv cartoons that came with massive toy sets for what was meant to be franchise, and a few youtube videos that were delisted.

I have this one memory of a father setting his infant down at a fight stick while Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix was on, and getting overly excited and into it, telling his son to "push the buttons, push the buttons!!". The infant incidentally lands Zangief's Double Suplex on Bison, and the dad shouts "NO WAY!! NO WAY!", which scares the infant.

It is the first thing that made me want to be a father, and it's gone forever.

Speaking of The Wizard of Oz, there's also the jitterbug scene. It was cut because the jitterbug dance had just been invented and the producers didn't want the movie to become dated. There's still a line of dialogue in the finished film where the Wicked Witch says she's sent an insect ahead to take some of the fight out of Dorothy and her friends.

Lol, they were worried about making pop culture references that would become old fast. Now there are plenty of studios that don't care about that at all.
