It was an alright joke. I'm not sure if I should expect better from Tim Allen since he's been a comedian for most of his life, but it doesn't seem worth getting mad about.

It's a joke that I could see being said about every president between Ford and Biden with the possible exceptions of the eggheads HW Bush and Obama. And maybe Clinton, but he could lean into his doofus side as well.

This isn't the first time (or even second I think) time that people tried to cancel Tim Allen for some stupid dad joke.

No real comments on this specific instance, but the vibe I'm getting around president jokes these days is interesting I think. Back in the day anyone could make some pretty scathing jokes about the sitting president and it was just cool, it didn't matter what political party you were. Like Bill Clinton got dunked on by democrats and liberals all the time and it's fine.

I think Biden is ripe for making jokes about and I'm liberal. But the problem is the political battlefield lines are drawn so razor sharp these days, that if you make a joke about your team's person then that's a point for the other side, so you can't do it.

Which is interesting because it probably was 50+ minutes when it first aired. Im watching an hour-long show from the 60s and each episode has a 50+ minute runtime

The fact that the only thing needed to make him feel "bullied" is to bring up that 60 minutes actually has an average run time of 43 minutes per episode makes it even more fuckin beautiful.
