Looks like Fire Emblem Three Houses. I'm more worried about the potential for excessive mobile-esque monetization, like Fire Emblem Heroes sees.

That doesn't look like it's happening. I noticed two of the summons were Marth and Celica both of which have amiibo so I'm guessing the summons will be built into the game + unlock early with amiibo. Maybe if we're super duper lucky we'll get some new fire emblem amiibo

Not a particularly interesting Direct for me. Only thing of real interest is the Front Mission remakes. I haven't got around to buying Xenoblade 3 yet, but I think I'll wait until all the DLC comes out. An Atelier game would normally be of interest, but it's more Ryza. Rain Code could have been interesting, but it being from the Danganronpa devs kills my interest. Tales of Symphonia was great, but I have no interest in replaying it.

I wonder if they're gonna be remaking FM1 from the SNES or a remake of the remake from the NDS

Tell me about it. Is this part of a series/metaseries?

Developer is Clap Hanz which has handled the Hot Shots Golf series since the second game. This one seems to be a stand alone game though.

Like Three Houses had NONE of that and it was an absolute banger.

Nice. I'm torn on whether to get the game on the Switch (for portable play) or wait a few months and see if it'll be dropped into Xbox Game Pass.

I always wrote it off as fearmongering, but at this point I really do suspect that Prime 4 may be a Switch 2 launch game.

Might as well be. Would be a great way to launch a console.

I'll play devil's advocate in this regard - while Prime 4 is absolutely in development hell and I understand that people want it sooner rather than later, I still think it's fantastic that between the game being announced and getting released, we got the next chronological installment in the Metroid series.

I know Im late to the party but I finally got a chance to watch it and wow. That was the worst direct I have ever seen.
These are the only exciting things announced.
-Pikmin but they didnt show shit so that barely counts.
-Kirby Return to Dreamland sounds awesome. Im in.
-Zelda obviously. BotW is the best Zelda game ever made imo so thats a day one buy.

Everything else sucked.

I like a bunch of indie and third developer games, just none in this direct seem interesting. The detective game sounds promising but I cannot get over that art style so Im gonna pass.

Some 64 ports announced are cool, but in terms of new games shown, just Pikmin, Kirby (which is a remake anyway), and Zelda were hype.

I watched it after work around 2:30 PM PST but I really liked a lot of the announcements. I was able to see Fire Emblem right before I had to leave for work and it seemed like those leaks from a few months ago were probably legit because I recognized the hair. Looks good. Honestly, there was a ton of big announcements that I loved tbh.

I actually predicted some of the games/dates from like two seconds of reveal like Octopath (and knew they would obviously end with Zelda which is fantastic they put a hard date and title reveal for). Really glad Tunic is coming. There were a lot of good surprises like Kirby Deluxe, Fatal Frame Wii that never came to the US, Symphonia which I've wanted on Switch forever, and of course Miyamoto disappointing everyone with talking about Pikmin mobile and then finally dropping the game that was almost finished five years ago and is coming out next year lol. Didn't disappoint me, honestly. I have a lot of games announced that I want to buy.

is that new Kirby like the one that came out or is it different?

anyway, the new Zelda and Pikmin already make this Direct worthwhile to me. lol
