My main guess is that they're keeping the loot box system but finally allowing you to buy whatever currency you have to use to buy a loot box with actual real money. Or just outright selling loot boxes.

In real gambling, you put up some of your money usually at a disadvantage hoping to win more real money. With lootboxes, you are spending your money at a disadvantage hoping to win digital items. Even if you win you lose

I thought Mirage was supposed to be more like the classic Assassins Creeds instead of like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla? Why would you even need lootboxes in a classic AC?

To be fair, after watching Caddicarus video about The Forbidden World of Banned Games, Im not particularly impressed at the reasons given by politicians and the ratings boards for banning a lot of the games and/or slapping an Adults Only rating on the front of the box since Daddy Caddy summed up my own exasperation quite well in his commentary, methinks.

Yep, which marks the last time I played an Ubisoft game. I got through Revelations, then never touched the series again. Shame, considering that Black Flag is the best in the series, and the last 2 games aren't terrible either.

Man Hatred sounds both awful and hilarious. Apparently the creator made it as a reaction to "PC games" and "games as art," then went on to drop this nugget:

"We want to use dark ambient music, because there's nothing [pleasantly] exciting in this game," Zieliski said. "It's supposed to feel kind of sad, and hateful. It's supposed to give the player an evil grin."

Activision saying that the rating is "pending and being fixed" isn't exactly confirmation of anything other than that it got a tentative AO rating and they're tweaking the game to resolve the issues. Movies work the same way, where they get a tentative MPAA rating with a list of which scenes led to the rating and then the studio will haggle with the ratings board over cutting certain scenes to negotiate it back down to a PG-13 or whatever they want.

And as for the "real gambling isn't in out game" claim from Activision, that could just mean they're going to patch it in like they did with a bunch of other games in the past. "It isn't in our game", even if we give them the benefit of the doubt that they're using the exact same definition of "real gambling" as the ESRB, isn't the same as saying "it will never be in our game."

Activision makes AssCreed games now? I thought that was Ubisofts gimmick.
