Kinda depends on the game. I go for them intentionally sometimes, but I'm not a completionist.

No. I will hunt easy achievements if Microsoft Rewards is giving good points for them though.

I don't but things like Jumping Sandwich or whatever just to buy trophies, though, and if I've stopped enjoying a game before I get the Plat I stop playing.

Hell no. But in-game trophies that give you shit yeah I grind em, I just 100% Reimi's battle trophies in star ocean 4 so I can have an additional skill slot

no, the whole idea bugs me. if you want your players to collect everything in your game, make those things worth collecting and fun to collect.

Yeah mostly, I'm not a completionist at all though. A lot of people get obsessed and will play a bad game for 100% and I'm nowhere near that OCD. I will keep going for achievements especially if I like the game for the sake of added replayability.

Something I've gotten into doing recently is before I start a new game, I'll get a couple pieces of paper and make a physical list of all the game's trophies. Then scratch them off as I unlock them.

Even if I know I'm not going to Platinum the game, there's still something I enjoy about scratching things off a physical list as I progress. It helps keep me motivated too.

On a first playthough of a game, I'm usually happy if I can get between 70-80% of trophies.

I never actively tried to get 1000/1000 but I liked going for a lot of the achievements that weren't gimmes but weren't obnoxious back on the 360. Just kind of stopped caring after that.

within reason. some things are just stupid. steelrising has an achievement for beating the game without ever using your health flash. real fucking fun, assholes, why not shoehorn in another one for beating the game with your TV turned off.

achievements are a good idea, and usually fun, but some are just absurd that not even 1% of the players will ATTEMPT, let alone accomplish. for people who "hate" achievements, blame the devs

Only if I really like the game. Stuff like scarlet nexus and nioh 2 for example is platinum trophies I got just because I really enjoyed playing through the games and checking out most of what they had to offer. Despite a lot of RNG being involved I actually got the platinum trophies for monster hunter world+iceborne too just because of how much I played the games. (Like, 2,300 hours. I played the bullshit outta' monster hunter world, lol).

There has only been an extremely few times where I will try to go for all trophies or achievements in a grindfest that makes me feel miserable doing it. Red dead redemption 2 was one of those games.

Studying every animal, skinning every animal, doing all the exotic requests, hunting requests for the squirrel statue, getting 70 gold mission medals and finally doing all 90 challenges in the game (some challenges being minor, others like picking all 43 herbs in the game after you already did this shit like 4 herbalist challenges ago with 20ish herbs or whatever and blackjack beat the dealer after hitting 3 times makes you think what jackass thought any of this was ok) is something I do not recommend any person to do because it was so terrible.

Nah, because there is always stuff that is just a chore or maybe something I would never think of or notice. In Atelier Sophie you get a trophy for learning the piano, but I didn't even notice it could be interacted with until I checked the achievement. It remains the only game I have plat'd.

You do on Xbox, if your gamerscore is on different tiers, you get a percentage back on all purchases. I get 5% off everything, so I get about $40 in bonus credit monthly to spend because of my gamerscore.
