Playing floodgate Sky Strikers. It's pretty inconsistent but very oppressive. It's amazing how much flexibility SS gives you with the floodgates. Just turn em off with the field spell or Multirole on a whim basically. Also nobody's running Imperial Order, not that it matters when I'm also running traps.

What's your deck list? I want to compare yours to mine and see if we can share ideas.

It's not my best list but I really don't want to be cutting other stuff. Because of Skill Drain, I find Borrelsword to be a bit more reliable. I dunno, it's still tentative but in general it's really hard for the opponent to do anything if I go first, and I'm still able to play 2nd

TCBOO (there can be only one) is a one card victory against Swordsoul and Despia btw

It's crazy cuz like I just did 10 sample 5 draws and I saw all playable hands, while in actual duels, I bricked with hand traps and floodgates for 2 games out of 4. I mean even bricks let me stall til I draw the right stuff, but it's just frustrating

I went with some different floodgates than you did. I don't like Rivalry because it means I can't link summon while it's active, and I don't like Skill Drain because it means Hayate can't direct attack, which is my best win condition while the opponent is locked down. TCBOO still lets me link summon with Raye (I just can't swap between Sky Striker links) while also crippling some other decks as you mentioned, and I also went with both Kaiser Colosseum and Summon Limit to limit summons. All of those on top of Fire Prison making it so that only Link monsters can attack has messed up basically everyone I've faced with this deck.

Ended my turn 1 board with Baronne, 4 Mat Apollousa, both pendulumgraphs, and PurplePoison on a scale for that second pop. And to top it all off I also dropped D-shifter near the end.

I feel like I coulda done more but I didn't wanna waste time lol. Probably coulda pivoted the combo, sacrificed one or two mats on Apollo to get out Titanic Galaxy for an extra spell negate and battle protection.

Yeah the idea behind those floodgates is that you can always just turn them off. You just have to make sure to get Multirole or the field spell. Field spell can miss obviously, but even if you miss, it's fine. Presumably in the last opponent's turn, they couldn't set up any negates. Also if you Multirole, they can't respond to your Engages anymore, which is huge.

But I think Summon Limit gets the same job done. I don't really think it matters which Floodgates you use. I just happened to have Rivalry on hand, but I'd probably use summon limit

Fire Prison is kinda interesting though, and I might use it. I feel like taking out Rivalry for it is not a bad idea. It's also an N rarity. That's a pretty good find

It's kinda funny that the card was designed as an omni-searcher for grind games but effectively is just "Foolish Burial but it banishes" lol

Oh god, I cannot count how many times I was winning a duel over the summer, only for my net to abruptly shit itself and die, causing me to lose by disconnect.

Gold Sarc search can actually come up in like Mystic Mine etc, but of course, the pinnacle Gold Sarc usage was in Edison where the slow add sometimes meant you end the game on the turn you get that card back.

Also Foolish is significantly more universal than Gold Sarc, but Gold Sarc does indeed banish things that have a lot more powerful on banish effects

Since it's a field spell, you can't really use it alongside Area Zero though. That's why I'm not running Area Zero in my deck. I'm still undecided on whether to add Multirole and what to take out for it if I do.

Three matches against Swordsoul players:

1st Match: I don't draw Raye at all till 15 turns. We both brick but I bricked harder and ultimately had to surrender because STILL NO RAYE

2nd Match: I Maxx C them and they still play through it, but then I destroy their board and start my combo but they surrender

3rd Match: I open with two Roze and Hornet Drones + Ghost Ogre. Opponent ends with Chinxiao dude, Berserker of the Tenyi, Monk and a spell card. I use Terraforming to bring Area Zero, set it and use it on Pot of Prosperity but got nothing. Then I normal summon Roze and go for Kaina to stop Berserker from attacking but they got baited and used Chinxiao to negate her, then I used Ghost Ogre to destroy Chinxiao and they used Called by, then I special summon Rose but Berserker negates and banishes her, then I used Hornet Drones to make Zeke and banish Berserker. Then Zeke sends Area Zero to grave and I ss Raye. Then I make Hayate and kill their Monk but they use a spell card to kill my Zeke but now I ss both Raye and Roze with Hayate still in and they used a Tenyi effect to bring back the Monk, I attack with Raye and SS Kagari to grab Engage from GY. Main Phase 2; I ss Lyna and then steal their Ecclesia from grave, then I used their Chinxiao to make the Goddess of the Underworld and used Engage to get another Raye in my hand along with Maxx C. Then they quit

I made an El Shaddoll Fusion fizzle by chaining There Can Be Only One to it and the guy scooped immediately afterwards.

Yeah I still think it's worth putting both field spells in depending on the quality of your hand. You only need to shove in one Area Zero anyways, so it's not a big investment. It's really the fact that you get to turn off your floodgates on your own turn. I think that quality makes this deck more than anything, from experience.

I'd rather just run floodgates that don't/barely hurt me and not have to worry about that

About 5 days, yeah. There's also going to be maintenance today, so hopefully we'll get some good datamine leaks around the same time.

The more I look over the water pack, the more trouble I have deciding if I want to go for Marincess or Kairyushin. I have enough waifu decks as it is, so building something with giant sea monsters would be a fun change of pace. The boss monster being a super Gozen on legs is interesting.

I've been wanting to build a Marincess deck since I learned about the new support, but I'm not gonna pull for them right when they're added. I'm still on the copium that the datamined Salamangreat structure deck will have Cynet Mining in it, so I'll wait until that comes out as well to decide.

May open Utopia pack for F0 and Draco Future. Gotta strengthen the Rank 4 stuff for Suships.

But I'm not sure whether to go all the way. Like PendMage, the Utopia structure deck has some UR and SR from Utopia's pack and 3 of that deck means chance for more UR/SR CP which is nice, plus maybe a workable Xyz-focused deck?

F0 is only an SR, and you only need one copy of UDF. Maybe craft F0, do one 10-pull of the pack just in case you pull the one copy you need, and if you don't it can just be crafting material.

But I'd say UDF is definitely a good investment if you run any Xyz decks. It's like 50 percent of the reason my Exosister deck is even playable right now, lol. (The other 50% is my opponents' illiteracy)

One my most random pulls was getting Draco Future. I made the pack he was in for something else and got him in the free one you get, was a bit stunned. Never would have got him otherwise.

The thing is a god damn beast of a card. Helped me with Zoos in the event before Flower Cardians took over my interest.

Its well worth it considering how its not that hard to summon in the right deck. Him and Zeus are just great XYZ toolbox cards.

We both bricked. The only 'play' I did was negating their CyDra Core with Gamma and Maxx C them to no avail.

Borrel Riot is so good considering it's basically half of Solemn Judgement on legs (it only negates special summon, but does so with a Rokket or itself as a cost instead half of your LP to negate AND having on GY effect as well).

However it being Ritual makes it hard to summon. I just got lucky it being on hand (usually it being there is brick lol) and I got enough setup to throw Double Disruptor to GY instead of Absorouter.

Fought a Blue-Eyes user.
I missed OTK by 800 LP because I destroyed their monsters (should not have), but even with that, I still had a chance were I chose the right Gaia to fetch from deck.

So on dude's turn they summon Neo Ultimate and Jet Dragon, and it looked like my lost in sight, especially when they got rid of my Gaia field spell beforehand.

Dude then Xyz a Galaxy-Eyes Cipher and stole my Gaia fusion. The problem: using Cipher's effect to steal means they cannot attack directly except with Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon Xyz.

Dude just threw the chance to victory.

Blue-Eyes has been a surprisingly dangerous deck ever since Jet and Dictator released. Going against them used to be an auto-win but now they can actually scrape up some victories.

Saw some people musing that the next event might be Single Attribute rather than Link. Would be a fun change of pace since everything the majority of events have been ED focused till now. Would love an excuse to troll with Harpies. >_>

Jet Dragon is extremely annoying.

But the fact that the next major content update also works for an Attribute gimmick and that the Sync/Xyz fest sort of came out of nowhere...the idea that the Link festival keeps getting upstaged is funny to me. >_>

Do we even know of any other events? I think Links, Attribute, and "Beginner Classic" are the only datamined event banners that havent been used yet.

Single attribute, huh? I mean, that would make sense, considering Salads and the Water stuff coming out, but I'm pretty sure I don't have anything that would fit the theme. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'll be good with the Link festival, since I have Twins and Crusadia.

Man the Crystal Beast structure deck is so quality. They didn't even have to print Crystal Bond in UR, considering it was already UR in its original print. They spoiled me with so many holos, and I love em holos, goddamn. I had a few rando CBs in holo from ages ago from the GX Legendary Duelist packs, so I made the conscious decision to play the Rainbow Overlord version with all the Garnet-y CBs in the deck.

Btw, the deck is really good. I think in today's MD meta, it'd be like a t2 or a very very strong Rogue. At least it's stronger than a lot of the Rogues right now. It can even beat the current TCG T1s because it can summon Abyss Dweller (Duel Devastator was an amazing set btw), which hard counters Tears. It can't really break boards without some serious side decking madness, however.

A single attribute event would be hilarious just for the fact that only Earth attribute decks would be able to use Maxx C. Me and my Ultra Athletes would probably have a field day in that event.

Two great matches. One was my Branded Tribrigade vs Despia, and the other was Exosisters vs Unchained Live Twins. Both games went on for like 6 turns and had us trading interactions constantly.

Also some random Bird-Up player screwed up their combo and scooped after messing around for three minutes lol.

I need it. Crystal Beasts are a top 3 archetype for me but they were always not good. Did they get new support?

Yes, you can do some ridiculous stuff with them now. Their best end board is difficult to play through for every deck, but you might not always get there is the problem.

The ones that do it are the 2 of the cards in the picture. Rainbow Bridge is the 2nd best card in the deck, and Crystal Beast Rainbow Dragon is the best card in the deck. The current 3rd best card is Conclave, which is the continuous trap that gives you mostly infinite supply of CBs while you can also choose to quick effect bounce and also even load up your hand.

There are so many decent guides to this deck now, but you can have an 11k beater that can wipe the board, an IP Masq and an Abyss Dweller that can go into Unicorn quick eff, and you can have a bounce back with Conclave and another potential bounce back with Rainbow Bridge.

CB hasn't even really been Rogue tier, and the best strat prior to this was a going 2nd Rainbow Neos centric deck. Imo, that deck relied a bit too heavily on drawing Neos Fusion. Compared to that, now you have so many searchers in the deck that 1 Ash is rarely enough to fully stop you in your track. Rainbow Neos would feel like adding a lot more bricks to the deck, though 1 variant will make you run all the CBs, which are usually bricks, sans Pegasus. The other variant only runs Ruby Carbuncle, CB Rainbow Dragon, and Pegasus, and frankly, that build is massively consistent, at the cost of sacrificing the board wipe 11k beater, but at the reward of a significantly more consistent setup

IP Masq and Unicorn aren't exactly budget though admittedly, but thankfully there are a lot of cheap Abyss Dweller, which you would at least have 1 of if you ever bought the deck pack Duel Devastator which had like every decent Synchros and Xyz at the time. So the full deck wouldn't cost you more than $30 irl. I just had to go for it cuz it's so cheap, even though there isn't any local scene around me lmao. I just like having em

The one in like 50 games where you just werent going to win. Ive had a few of those where it truly was me having all the outs and being on the other side of it too. Breaking boards with thunder dragons was always fun that way cause its a non targeting destroy that can hit anything on the field. One reason I havent melted them down yet.
