Too bad they couldn't get that third game to work with the rest. Could've been the biggest Zelda game of all time. The way the stories flow into each other one way or the other I consider them to be one game. For now I suppose the two still make it pretty big.

It was great, but I imagine anyone who really liked it would be more inclined to vote for LttP (like I did).

Not me. To me it was superior. I liked you got the items outside of the dungeons. Could do the dungeons in pretty much any order. Only improvement to that I can see is have the items hidden in the overworld instead of dungeons or being all bought at a single location.

Originally, it was fine. But I ended up stopping after a couple dungeons. Then, my copy didnt work at only a specific part. So, I stopped. And then replay it and finish some years ago. That said, it was always weird that it release on three systems in a row The game was fine, and had fun stuff Idk. There was just something about it. And I dont think anyone liked the forced wolf parts

Zelda II was interesting But there was something about it. I could get into it. And I did have trouble with one part. That said, Wolfy likes it. And played the port on the switch that I played and said the port wasnt the best. So maybe that was the issue

Oh ok. Didn't know if the third game was supposed to be links awakening. Pretty much same graphics and both oracle games iirc end with him sailing off on a ship and links awakening starts with him on a ship. I say third game as in chronologically

OoT

i know people are trolling and voting for zelda 2 but the game is actually a lot better than people give it credit. still lower ranked than most but not at all a bad game like most people say. MM gets more hate than it should and it's a marvel at how they managed to put that game out in under 2 years.

i enjoyed BotW a lot but that one definitely gets too much praise. as great as it is the dungeons are just so lacking it ruins it. but i have really high hopes for the new one if they can more like blend BotW and the older style like OoT together. i think the game would be great in a more traditional style with dungeon items. if they have shrines then cut the number into half and make the game more like 8 big dungeons.

But I didnt say it was awful just because it was challenging I just didnt like it. The first Zelda was challenging, but I liked that one

The best of the 3D games outshine all the 2D games. I recently replayed Link to the Past (the best 2D Zelda) and it has a number of big flaws. The backtracking/slow overworld traversal, and lack of guidance on where to go next.

Ocarina of Time is rightfully the most important game, historically, but I believe Majoras Mask and Breath of the Wild are both better. Majora takes it for story/tone, and BotW for pure gameplay.

I remember it like yesterday. Grandad took us out and let my brother qnd I pick a game a peice. My brother got OoT I got battle tanks.

I'm a far bigger zelda fan now. He's maybe played OoT majoras mask and botw. I've played and beat every console entry except wind waker. Then LA the oracle games and link between worlds. And most of Minish cap.

I personally picked OoT because I feel like it's the most consistent throughout the game. It does have it's low points (like Jabu Jabu, Water Temple, and saving the carpenters at Gerudo Valley), but those low points don't annoy me to the same level as the low points in other games

Like as much as I like BoTW, it has several things dragging it down for me. The weapon durability mechanic with no way to repair them makes exploring only to find a weapon feel not all that rewarding since said weapon is just going to break 10 minutes later. It had too many easy shrines (which are fine if there was some kind of puzzle to get into them like with the darkness area/flower garden/labyrinths/etc., but most of them didn't have that), and could have done with far less combat trial shrines (or at the very least have a different enemy in each one instead of fighting the same mini Guardian nearly every time). The Divine Beasts were an interesting idea but only 1 of the 4 really made you have to think (Vah Nabooris) while the other 3 were too short + easy. And finally, it felt like there wasn't enough enemy diversity since the vast majority of the combat encounters were against different colored Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos. Still a good game imo, but those issues drag it below OoT, TP, and MM for me. BotW 2 has the potential to be my favorite though if they just fix those issues.

As for TP, I have it as an honorable mention because its low points (overly long tutorial and boring wolf sections) don't bother me that much either, but I still dislike them more than I did OoT's.

I will say that I liked how the enemies acted in BotW. I threw a bomb at a big guy and blew it up. The second time I threw the bomb, he kicked it back. Or how the bog guys should pick up the little ones to use them as weapons, IIRC

It's been nice to see Zelda 2 getting some love in the modern age, considering how badly it was shit on in the 90's and 00's (at least from my perspective). It's definitely not cut from the same cloth as most other entries in the series, but it does have plenty of unique value. I think the one thing that gives 2 its uniqueness was the addition of an overworld map; for all of the Zelda series' efforts to create epic adventures, the maps have always felt very confined and restrictive. Zelda 2's larger scale and multiple towns gave the quest a much grander sense of scale, a feeling that was absent from the series until BotW.

OoT is...well, if the entire game was like the middle third (becoming an adult, getting Epona, Hookshot, Forest Temple, having the freedom to go out of order and do Ice Cave / Biggoron's Sword / Water Temple early), it would easily be the GOAT of the series. But the first three child dungeons bore me to tears, the game kinda loses steam in the last few dungeons (particularly the final dungeon), and the OoT version of Ganondorf is one of the biggest unintentional dorks in gaming, to the point where even as a kid I couldn't take his derpy cliched ass seriously. When you are effortlessly outclassed in coolness and intimidation by your phantasmal doppelganger, it's time to pack it in.
