It's weird the concept of time travel is infinitely cooler than being able to change seasons at command. But they still made it better

No clue.

Sometimes this site has me double quoting people and idk how it happened among other things. Maybe it's my phone itself

It's been nice to see Zelda 2 getting some love in the modern age, considering how badly it was shit on in the 90's and 00's (at least from my perspective). It's definitely not cut from the same cloth as most other entries in the series, but it does have plenty of unique value. I think the one thing that gives 2 its uniqueness was the addition of an overworld map; for all of the Zelda series' efforts to create epic adventures, the maps have always felt very confined and restrictive. Zelda 2's larger scale and multiple towns gave the quest a much grander sense of scale, a feeling that was absent from the series until BotW.

OoT is...well, if the entire game was like the middle third (becoming an adult, getting Epona, Hookshot, Forest Temple, having the freedom to go out of order and do Ice Cave / Biggoron's Sword / Water Temple early), it would easily be the GOAT of the series. But the first three child dungeons bore me to tears, the game kinda loses steam in the last few dungeons (particularly the final dungeon), and the OoT version of Ganondorf is one of the biggest unintentional dorks in gaming, to the point where even as a kid I couldn't take his derpy cliched ass seriously. When you are effortlessly outclassed in coolness and intimidation by your phantasmal doppelganger, it's time to pack it in.
I agree with almost all of your post. But OoT Ganon is STILL the coolest-looking Ganon, and the best Ganon boss fight.

Yeah it was the most epic feeling at least. Twillight princess had my favorite Ganondorf fight though easy but epic feeling imo.

I've disliked this whole turning him into a legit giant boar rather than slightly humanoid one.

I wanna see a modern take on OG Ganon with the trident cape and everything

Gotta be honest, even as a kid I wasn't impressed even with the final Ganon fight. Now to be fair, I did have the Biggoron's Sword even on my first playthrough, which completely invalidates the intended challenge of that fight and makes Ganon an absolute chump. So considering that as a kid it took me well over a dozen tries to defeat LttP Ganon and it felt like such a big accomplishment when I finally beat him, OoT Ganon never had a chance in hell of making a good impression.

As far as Ganondorf goes, Wind Waker blows the rest of the franchise out of the water, in terms of both Ganondorf's characterization / intimidation factor, and the final showdown.

That's a brutal ending for a game that never really takes itself seriously.
