I found it during a dive into random anime land, looking for something along the lines of Angel's Egg or Robot Carnival, which I had recently seen, and with more of a lasting setting/characters similar to Gridman or Evangelion, but condensed into a shorter runtime. If you've never seen those, I recommend them too. Think I was also watching a lot of Godzilla at the time and playing Sekiro. Doubt most people know Casshan. Haha. Dracin is peak anime imo like Resident Evil XD if you have VR, there's that and ZoE2 Mars So, Casshan ended up also fulfilling a lot of those points for me, and as a huge plus is a tolerable take on classic anime heroes like Ultraman or Gatchaman or Speed Racer, reimagined for an older audience with shades of like Devilman or The Matrix, or whatever. Parts of it are very Ninja Scroll x Berserk. It's dark. It's violent. It's brooding. Parts of it are very funny depending on your tastes. You might enjoy it. I think you can find it on YouTube for free haha. Japanese Cyberpunk, etc. Ancient Aliens. Distinct production designs with a surreal apocalyptic climax. Anime characters behaving like real people and vice versa.
