I already paid off my student loans many years ago, idgaf if people are getting their loans forgiven because i knew the pain and suffering they are going through, it was a such a relief for me when i paid off my loans so hopefully they have less burden but also we need to find solutions to make college way more affordable and accessible to Americans since young students are our future u kno

I consolidated my loans before I fully paid them off so I don't know if I would have been eligible anyways.

Either way nah I'm not mad.

I helped my wife pay off her loan years ago, and no I am not mad. I understand that the debt is crippling many people of my generation and fully support any relief they can get.

Indifferent. I think it would've been better spent working towards actually finding ways to lower education cost, but the government has wasted money on much worse things.

I paid off my loans a couple years ago but I'm mad that education is so expensive in the first place. Tuition is stupidly expensive and textbooks are a huge scam trying to get even scammier by injecting NFTs into the equation. And teenagers are pressured into absolutely going to college even if they don't know what they want out of it, potentially wasting their time and going into debt for no reason.

Not really, it'd be nice to see some meaningful reform in college costs instead of just slapping a bandaid on a broken leg.

Even if you feel somewhat slighted for whatever petty reason, you have to understand how big of an economic impact this can have. It creates a lot of economic mobility (not just as a one time thing either) for millions of people who now can afford to invest their money, that was previously tied up into loans, into whatever they want

the issue isn't getting the debt forgiven, the issue is how much college costs in the first place.

i don't think it'll impact as much people think. this is monthly payments being removed, not like the stimulus check were people are given thousands of dollars. it'll just ease some people's budgets going forward, but it's not like we haven't already seen the effects from the payment pause. this, in line with payments resuming in 2023, will make those that got $10k knocked off forget about it when they making monthly payments again.

It's not a massive boost to the economy but permanently freeing up a billion+ dollars a month and not having the thought of having to make those payments again can motivate people to take risks they wouldn't otherwise take.

It's monthly payments people will likely put a large chunk of into the economy.

I was lucky enough to be able to pay off my loans within a couple of years after graduating, so it's nice that people are getting the help they need. If anything, it should have been more than 10K.
