Never been. Apparently people were reaching out to my mom and dad to try and get a hold of me, but they never got through. I don't have fond memories of HS so i'm quite happy to leave that era and everybody in it in the past.

Those who did go, what was your experience like?

The 20 year was supposed to be last year. Wasn't planning on going even if it had happened, cause it's a long drive from So. Cal. to Rhode Island.

My 10 year was literally set up in some pub like 2 towns over. Like what the fuck, why wouldn't you at least do it in same town where we went to high school?

I skipped it >_> Apparently not a lot of people went to it anyway. I don't even talk to anyone from my class lol. The only 2 people I still talk to from high school are from the class after mine.

Hardly. But people remembered me and we had conversations. Only 3 people I remembered by name didn't remember me at all. And that hurt a bit but most remembered me. It wasn't like a life changing experience or something, but I enjoyed being there. Didn't feel like a waste of the 50 bucks or whatever I paid to show up for.

Honestly I think the Internet and social media kind of killed those for these current generations. I would only want to see a handful of people from high school at any sort of reunion, and thanks to the Internet/etc, I have been in contact with them and still hanging out over a decade after graduating. There's a few I haven't been in contact with for years, but many of them have been sitting on my Steam etc. friends list for a while so I could always just shoot a message.

I had moved out of state right as my 10 year happened. I saw the pictures of the split event they had. It looked about what I thought it would be. Awkward as hell and people I didnt want to be around anyway. My best friend and I kept that side of our lives in the past as our present was much better.

i hated that school and everyone in it, i sent an anonymous tip to the FBI about them trafficking children and called the cops saying they were about to perform some dark rituals with robes and deviant bullshittery and then i blocked everyone.

i just didnt want to reunite with those ppl when the majority wouldn't have anything to do with me in school bc i wasn't rich.

Honestly I think it's a "inner circle" kinda thing. Like if there was a bunch of people who were great friends and managed to keep in touch with each other over the years... It's probably those kinda people who set up such invitations in the first place.

My only guess is that they try to reach out to people who used to be part of their inner circle, especially the ones they haven't seen in over a decade

20 year would have been in 2014 and 25 year would have been in 2019 - didn't hear anything about them. No information, nothing.

I went to the first one my class had in 2008.

It was a good time. I haven't gone to any of the others

Oh I also went to it in 2012. Smaller affair but fun.

Most the invites happen now over various social media platforms I don't use. So I don't typically see the invites nowadays.

No, as other people have said, I think social media has wounded them a lot. Apparently barely anyone went to my 10 year one in 2015. The reunion committee seemed to put effort into getting people to go though, I even got an invitation despite not having a social media presence.

5 year was fun and it was before social media really took off so it was a lot of actual catching up with people. I went home with a girl that we both had a mutual secret attraction to eachother and just never acted because we were dumb kids that felt we'd get embarrassed if we said things out loud.

10 year. FB was in it's prime so we already knew what was up with everyone. Lots of married people this time but I made out with two different girls who I briefly dated in hs. Then I got too drunk to continue with either of those choices. Still had a lot of fun though

My 20 was supposed to be during covid times but was canceled. Then no one wanted to reorganize it so it just never happened. No one uses fb much anymore so it'd actually be interesting to hear about people's kids and shit.

Not like that at all from my perspective. My senior year of high school was when Facebook was made public and really starting to get popular so it was mostly on here. Class President invited the 10 people they were still friends with and those 10 knew other people so they got invited then those know other people so even more invites and on and on. Ended up being like 500 people invited, of those maybe 85-90 showed up. The event ended up being held on thanksgiving weekend so pretty much everybody had the time off to go and they were in state anyway visiting family for the holiday so it want some Massive undertaking for people to show up.

My 10 year was several years ago and i skipped it. My son was like a month or two old and i lived an hour away. Wouldve been too much of a hassle.

Plus anyone i cared about in high school is on facebook so why do i need to catch up with them? I know what theyve been up to.
