yup. didnt even get hit tho.
kind of a long story, my work is in an area thats expanding quite a bit. i got used to just checking a yield sign at a stop light and didnt check on coming traffic...stupid mistake just out of habit. cut right in front of a jeep, he swerved and hit someone else while i manged to make my turn.

i pulled over and went and checked on everyone and admitted guilt on the spot. my insurance was a bit pissy about that but dont really care.

you'd be surprised by how many people tell me they would have kept going and not checked.

Yes.

Had bad brakes and couldn't stop one time.

I bumped a trucks bumper at a red light and the hitch knocked a hole in my bumper.

We got out and looked at the damage and was like fuck it because there was no damage to his truck.

He was ready to get gone.

I assume he had no DL or Insurance.

Guess he didn't want to get busted too even though I was the one that hit him.

No, I've driven well over 250k miles and it's not that hard to pay attention when you're driving or to follow the rules of the road.

Yes. Was driving home from work on an old two-lane road (one lane of traffic in each direction) that handles way too much traffic to be that small. I was waiting to turn left at an intersection when the oncoming car turns on its left turn signal as well. At this point there's probably 10+ annoyed cars stuck behind me as it's a single lane and I've been waiting for a chance to turn (it was a minor intersection, so no light/sign on the street I was on), so trying to do the right thing, I start turning. Oncoming car blows through the intersection and hits me in the rear quarter panel/wheel well. He gets out mad as hell, so I point out why did he have his turn signal on if he wasn't going to turn, and he admitted it was on, but claimed it was for a driveway a full 100ft past the intersection. Of course when the cops showed up, he changed his story and claimed he had no turn signal on and I just turned in front of him out of nowhere. With no real evidence, I was found to be at fault.

And that's why to this day, I now wait until anyone with their turn signal on is nearly finished turning before I even start. I should probably just get a dash cam.

a decadeish ago someone ran a stop sign and broadsided me. driver admitted all fault in the accident.

i still got billed like 10% or something because i didn't honk my horn (again, hit from the side), ostensibly due to some local insurance regulation on the matter.

I was once found at fault in an accident where the other person was telling the cop that it was her fault.

Also was at fault when I bumped a person going like 2 mph at a stop light, as I was idling up. The lady claimed neck & back injuries at the scene, and said she was going numb in her legs because of it (her claims were thrown out as insurance fraud).

I couldn't tell. I think we both were doing something wrong, the cops just believed him cause he was a semi.

Basically, I went to a stop sign and went to a full stop, looked to the left didnt see anyone, so I went. He turned his semi right Into my Prius and totalled her. He told the cops he let two people go already so it was his turn, but when I came to the stop sign I didn't see anyone ahead of me so if he let two cars go they must have been along timeago. Cop took his side, guess I looked like a kid as it was in a college area.

Can't say who was at fault, all I know is I didn't have full coverage so I was out of a car.

Only accident I've been that warranted calling the police (the other person was early stages pregnant) wound up being a no fault/citation.

The rest have been small fender benders in parking lots that were either handled without law enforcement or damage was minor enough to bother fixing.

Not my fault, but I could've avoided it. Other car was parked out and pulled out into the main road a little bit and I could've swerved a bit into the opposing lane but didn't see

only as a single vehicle accident, but didnt report it to anyone.

I smashed the driver side door on my first truck (1991 Toyota Hilux) backing out of a covered parking space and forgot there was a pillar towards the back, so I swung into it as I reversed.

Didnt damage the parking structure but the door had to be replaced out of my own pocket since I only had liability insurance.
