Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Fire Emblem 3 Houses. Got halfway through one of the routes and couldn't take the slog anymore. Really worried about the future of the series.

Three frontrunners because the list was enormous.

-Dead Rising 2. It's been made by western devs who missed the gist of the first game and instead slapped together an unpolished zombie killing game that tells you when to laugh and directs you away from 90% of weapons in favor of their one-time novelty combo weapons and lots and lots of guns because the game wasn't becoming generic fast enough. The player character operates like crap and most of the area feels padded out by generic samey casinos.

-I went completely dark to avoid Paper Mario 3DS spoilers almost immediately. Before they were even calling it Sticker Star. I think a link between the present and my youth was severed that day. I have been unable to look at Nintendo the same way or give them the benefit of the doubt ever since. I want to be fully optimistic about the Switch but I know what these guys are capable of.

-Post-2012 Capcom.
-Devil May Cry has microtransactions. And pre-order bonuses. The special edition was pretty grimy too. The owners of the previous version can buy Vergil but apparently LDK and turbo need to be exclusive to the terrible new consoles? Pretty sure PC at least could handle that. That's quite a paywall in front of those modes. Game could have come sooner if we didn't have to climb over the treacherous obstruction that was the reboot.
-Resident Evil has started appealing to the cinemasins crowd by reverting to slow, boring survival horror that prioritises atmosphere and an experience tailored for streamers over gameplay or replay value. A series for people who will buy anything with enough hype.
-I don't care about Monster Hunter but it's getting the most of Capcom's eggs in one basket treatment while lots of other franchises are neglected.
-Street Fighter is an Esports costume store and a terrible spectator game. Got re-released in place of literally anything more interesting despite it being unnecessary because of the game's fight money/dlc character thing..
-The most recent Marvel vs Capcom was a disastrous MCU ad. It's Fuhnction baybee.
-One Mega Man game was made to sate people and then he was banished back to the mobile game containment field.
-Okay legit where is my Clover Studios collection on Steam?
(-I am being very generous by not including it, but do remember in the name of a level playing field I was forced to ban something from competing at the start of the post.)

Same here. I was extremely excited about the first fable and extremely disappointed.

I only played the first two Fables, and I thought that the second one was pretty good...until the ending segment.

Mario is missing

Dragon Age 2, really only because of how much I loved the first game. Ive warmed up to 2 since it first came out, but my first experience with the game was pretty poor.

Hearthstone has been one of my favourite games, but for whatever reason the balancing has always been slow and even atrocious at times. There have been so many occasions where the community has identified a huge balance issue but it took way too long for the necessary changes to take place (one big offender was the Big Priest deck which instead of being properly nerfed was supported for years). Things have improved in the past few years, but too late to where a lot of people had already quit in frustration.

2077 for sure. Fucking awful, and the fanboys sucking it off was even worse.

I dont know if Id call it a disappointment but GTA4 is so inferior to San Andreas in every way, shape and form.

I guess I was a bit disappointed at Resistance Fall of Man 3. That was a good series until about then.

"Gaming disappointment" ..... I'll take it that this could mean "For a series" and say Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within movie.

GTA IV and Dark Souls 2 come immediately to mind.

PS5 has no games

Spore taught me that we live in a dark, forsaken world and dreams don't come true.

WH40K: Dawn of War 2. After the amazing first game and its expansions, the sequel was just disappointing. The only good thing about it was the last stand mode.

I didn't even think it was a bad game prior to Remind, but everything was pointing towards it being the best in the series and it definitely wasn't.

Anthem. That was one that a group of us at work were all hyped for and one we all planned on getting to play as a group. One of the guys got early access and warned us after playing, I backed off in a hold pattern and a few other still got it but were very disappointed with it.

No Terranigma on the Switch
Final Fantasy 12 getting rid of turn-based combat (Final Fantasy in general)
Killing Day not coming out for the PS3 (at the time it was very next gen compared to other games of that era)
WWE: Here Comes the Pain

Probably the 3rd of all of them.

Fable. I followed the development of that game. I believe I created an account here just to talk about it. I saw all of the exaggerations and blatant lies about what the game was going to be. Then when it released the game was missing so much of what they promised. They even conveniently switched forum software on the official forum to get rid of all the posts from developers touting features that were simply not there. They banned users who posted screenshots of them lying to us about the game. Early access reviews that talked about seeing and playing with some of the promised amazing features also varnished. I will never play another Peter Molyneux game again because of that. They lied for years and then tried to erase all of the lies and ban anyone who brought them up.

Former Rare employees have said that there were frustrating micromanagement issues even back before Conker came out, and just worsened when they left Nintendo.
