World of Warcraft: Cataclysm: It was a complete letdown compared to WOTLK and the game never recovered.

Fallout 4- Mediocre game that was quickly forgotten about despite having amazing sales and tons of hype.

I just remember that if they had done all their originally intended promises, it would have been the most indepth and groundbreaking mmo of all time. Maybe even to this day. The stuff they planned was fucking insane. Like they were going to have player run governments. And one race could breath underwater, and just for them they would have a whole other undersea region only they could naturally explore. Everyone else had to have a water breathing spell. Tons of other shit. It was nuts. But 90% of the promises got canceled. When it finally came out it was a very generic mmo

It hurts because there was so much potential there. The combat was fun, but they dropped the ball with so much. It's like they got so carried away with sidequests and making an open world that they didn't have time to flesh out enough main plot or any character development.

ffxv is the all time disappointment. i was on board with everything they pretended would be there, even the stuff in the 2013 rebranding trailer. that shit looked hype.

cyberpunk 2077. idk how this launched in the state that it did, from the devs that made witcher 3. and now the company is worth much less money. they were on top after witcher 3, and now they're kind of a joke.

Nah, SE are well known for their long development cycles for games, especially their mainline FF ones.

But FF15 in particular was bad. I first heard about that game I'm pretty sure way back when I was in high school, Lmao.

My friends convinced me to buy it and im not the most into FPS games but i hated it. Dropped 60 bucks and never played it more than once.

That game had one of the most noticeably rushed final stretches since Xenogears. I enjoyed the first few chapters, but always forget about the game when thinking back to Bioware games because of how meh the last chapters are

2 + 3 weren't disappointments since you could expect them to not be that good after Molyneux lied his ass off about Fable 1.

Though the original ending of Mass Effect 3 is right there with it.

Yeah, I went into Fable 2 with very low expectations from disliking Fable 1, and ended up liking 2 more as a result

cyberpunk 2077, the fact that it flopped so hard signaled that there would never be a game like that again. nobody will ever dream up another truly ambitious game, it will all be live service or movie games forever and ever

MGS V easily. It starts off strong but as the game goes on it just feels less and less like an MGS game and by the end I was so disappointed I could barely give a shit to complete it.

Felt like an incomplete project that was pushed out the door at the last minute, probably won't ever replay it. It's a damn shame too because the controls and movement are just top notch.

Kingdom Hearts 3. I'm not really invested in many video game series, so that one being as bad as it was really hurt.

After that, Final Fantasy 15.

Warcraft 3 reforged for me. Blizzard made it even worse by removing access to the original reign of chaos if you owned it on battlenet

If we're talking a more mainstream game I'll go with ff15. All of that hype just to release a bland and soulless open world game that was clearly rushed out the door. No idea why they felt the need to chop out some of the story and place it into a movie. At least the game looks nice

anyway, I stopped really getting hyped for games after that.

besides that, maybe Death Stranding.

I thought a Kojima game with little, to no, restraint would be one of the most amazing things ever, but it turned out to be one of the worst games that I've ever played through.
